Ted Danson 'wants Downton Abbey cameo'
Ted Danson has revealed that he would love to star in Downton Abbey.
The CSI star explained that he enjoys watching the period drama with his wife, actress Mary Steenburgen.
"We're watching the second year in [the US] and my wife and I are completely hooked," he told the Radio Times. "I can't wait for Crawley to get out of his wheelchair and fall in love with Mary.
"It's so sad that you guys [in the UK] only make six or seven episodes a year."
Danson added that he would like a cameo in the series but admitted that it would make Steenburgen "horribly jealous".
"If we could go to England, the two of us, and be in Downton Abbey, we'd be the happiest people on the planet," he added.
Bones star David Boreanaz also recently revealed that he would love to appear in the third season of Downton Abbey.
Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actress Shirley MacLaine has signed up for a role in future episodes and will play Lady Grantham's mother Martha Levinson.
Cara Theobald, Lucille Sharp and War Horse star Matt Milne are among the other actors joining the Downton Abbey cast for the third season.
