'Packed to the Rafters' boss denies Gibney, Thomson quitting show
Packed to the Rafters chief executive Tim Worner has hit back at rumours that his two lead stars have quit the show.
Rebecca Gibney and Erik Thomson, who play Julie and Dave Rafter in the Seven Network family drama, are rumoured to have asked to leave the series at the end of this season.
Worner told The Daily Telegraph that the network plans to follow Julie and Dave for years to come, saying: "The latest planning discussions we've had are for late 2013 and early 2014 and the storylines are very strong with Dave and Julie Rafter right in the middle of them.
"Time is our friend when it comes to sifting through the ideas we have in front of us.
"Of all those ideas, and there are a lot of them, the notion of wrapping [Rafters] up and putting a nice bow on it would be at the bottom of the list."
Angus McLaren, who plays Nathan Rafter in Packed to the Rafters, was recently rumoured to have taken "extended leave" from the show in order to concentrate on his music career.
Jessica Marais, who used to portray his on-screen sister Rachel, left the series last year.
A number of new cast members have made their debuts on Packed to the Rafters in recent weeks, such as former Neighbours star Brooke Satchwell, Jacob Allen, Samantha Tolj and Cameron Daddo.
