Katy Perry tapped to host 'Saturday Night Live'
The hits just keep on coming for pop diva Katy Perry. On Monday (Nov. 21), just one day after walking home with an American Music Award, Perry tweeted out word that she'll be hosting the Dec. 10 episode of "Saturday Night Live."
"I'm SO excited 2 announce I'll be HOSTING Saturday Night Live Dec. 10!" she tweeted. "This is the cherry on top and @robynkonichiwa is part of it!"
Meaning Perry won't be doing double-duty as musical guest. But we're going to go ahead and assume that at some point in the show Perry will somehow, some way make use of her her skills -- maybe in an Andy Samberg/Lonely Island "SNL Digital Short?"
We can't help but wondering if Perry's husband, Russell Brand, will make a surprise (or not so much of a surprise) appearance. Brand himself is a veteran "SNL" host -- he hosted back in February. Perry herself made a memorable "SNL" appearance in Sept. 2010 when she appeared in a strategically-cut Elmo t-shirt as a response to "Sesame Street" dumping her as a guest.
