NBC Orders a Full Season of Grimm
In a move I certainly didn't see coming at the beginning of the fall season (the show was one of my Dead Pool entries), NBC has ordered a full season of Grimm, according to Entertainment Weekly. With a full 22-episode order, it's the network's only new hour-long drama to receive a full-season pickup.
NBC will also try out the show on Thursday, December 8 in the 10pm slot in an attempt to grow its audience. Grimm currently airs in the graveyard that is Friday nights at 9pm, where it's performing admirably. The show is averaging 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the adult demo when DVR usage is factored in. Last week's episode drew 5.4 million viewers and a 1.6 rating in the adult demo before DVR viewers were factored in, good enough to come in second for the night and place well ahead of Fringe.
Congratulations to the plucky fairytale procedural for overcoming genre competition in its time slot and comparisons to Once Upon a Time to earn a full season!
