'Community' execs 'feeling confident about fourth season'
Community could return for a fourth season, according to the show's producers.
The NBC comedy has suffered from low ratings and was placed on hiatus late last year.
However, executive producer Russ Krasnoff told audience members at the 2012 PaleyFest: "The people at NBC love the show, so we're feeling pretty confident."
Fellow exec Neil Goldman added that the series, which stars Joel McHale and Chevy Chase, still needs more viewer support.
"You'll get to see these next 12 [episodes], but continue to spread that word and be loud," he said. "Twitter is great, but sometimes we think it's preaching to the converted."
Last year, Community creator Dan Harmon told Digital Spy that "online viewership" could save the show.
"Netflix and Hulu have become the new buyers of television, and we are big in those markets," he explained. "They don't get counted in the Nielsen [ratings] but they're getting counted as downloads.
"So if there's enough money to be made in those markets, we could actually continue to be around for a while, having abysmal Nielsen ratings, making people scratch their heads!"
The third season of Community resumes on NBC on Thursday, March 15 at 8/7c.
