MTV Movie Awards 2012 to return to California's Gibson Amphitheatre
The 2012 MTV Movie Awards will make its return to the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.
Each year, MTV honours movies from the past year, as well as previewing upcoming movies.
The 2012 MTV Movie Awards will be produced for the first time by Jesse Ignjatovic, who served as an executive producer for last year's MTV Video Music Awards and the 17th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards.
The cable network's president Stephen Friedman said in a statement: "Just as Jesse has done with our Video Music Awards, we know he'll infuse this year's Movie Awards with creative, musical and cinematic elements that fully tap into the sense of awe our audience experiences in a movie theatre.
"In his inspired hands, this year's show will be re-imagined to deliver a telecast that reflects our audience's favourite films, music and stars."
Last year, Twilight took home the most awards including 'Best Kiss' and 'Best Movie'.
