Tina Arena returning to Young Talent Time
There'll be an extra hit of nostalgia when Young Talent Time returns to TV in 2012: Network Ten has announced that Tina Arena is coming back to the talent quest.
Tina joined the original YTT in the late '70s when she was just seven, making a name for herself as one of the show's best pint-sized performers. She'll act as a judge and mentor to the contestants in the resurrected version.
"I am really excited to be coming back and being involved in the re-launch of Young Talent Time," said Tina in a statement. "It is the 'original' TV talent show format — it's unique and iconic but it's also typically Australian".
Ten programming boss David Mott gushed that Tina is "a born entertainer who is passionate about fostering young talent" who's "inspired and entertained generations of fans".
Like its predecessor, the new Young Talent Time will blend a talent quest with performances by a core team of singers. Tina will join host Rob Mills (formerly of Australian Idol) and another yet-to-be-announced judge
