Janet Jackson: 'X Factor USA judging role just wouldn't be possible'
Janet Jackson has officially turned down a role on The X Factor USA.
The actress and singer sister of the late Michael Jackson revealed that although she was considered to replace either Nicole Scherzinger or Paula Abdul on the show, she would not be able to fit it into her schedule.
ackson told The Insider that she was "very flattered that X Factor let me know that I was being considered for next season, but it just wouldn't be possible".
The star spoke about her previous commitment to her 'Number Ones Up Close and Personal Tour' - which resumes in the summer - and projects with the Lionsgate studio. She said that as a result, taking on a TV gig would be "unrealistic" at the moment.
While Jackson confessed that a talent show stint would not be an option if X Factor boss Simon Cowell offered it, representatives for the star have said that they have no reason to believe she was even in the running.
A statement from Jackson's team added: "There have been absolutely no meetings between Janet and anyone with regard to X Factor."
