George Sampson, Robson Green join 'Mount Pleasant' for series two
Mount Pleasant has been recommissioned by Sky1 for a second series airing this summer.
Britain's Got Talent star George Sampson and Being Human's Robson Green are new to the cast of the relationship drama, which begins shooting today (March 2) in Manchester.
Creator and writer Sarah Hooper said in a statement: "I love Robson, he is a fantastic actor and we're all delighted to have someone with his pedigree joining the cast, and with George's talent and rising star status it is going to bring an exciting new edge to our already brilliant ensemble.
"I can't wait to see the new series come to life."
Meanwhile, Sampson commented: "I'm thrilled to be joining Mount Pleasant... the cast could not have been more welcoming. The role of Gary is an amazing opportunity for me, on top of the other screen work I've done recently.
"I can't wait to explore further the comedic side of acting with this fantastic cast."
Ex-Coronation Street actress Sally Lindsay will reprise her lead role as married Lisa, who in the first series discovered that another woman was trying to seduce her husband Dan (Daniel Ryan).
Upstairs Downstairs's Pauline Collins, comic Bobby Ball, Angela Griffin and Peep Show's Neil Fitzmaurice are among the other names to return to the show.
Mount Pleasant, which achieved strong audiences for its first run last year, will be next broadcast on Sky1 in August.
