Tonight’s explosive episode of Geordie Shore opened with a guilty Vicky preparing to dump boyfriend Dan after cheating on him with Ricci in last week’s episode. However after Dan’s no-show, Vicky and Ricci decided upon a cosy night-in, despite the other housemates planning a massive night out on the ‘Toon.’

Meanwhile, worried that boyfriend Joel was ignoring her, Sophie issued him with an ultimatum: It’s over between them if he doesn’t pay her a visit at the Geordie Shore house. Not wanting to end things with Sophie, Joel did turn up later that night – semi naked and glowing a standard Geordie Shore deep shade of tangerine.

However, despite arriving to visit Sophie on a night out to celebrate with the gang, it was evident that she was not Joel’s priority as he flirted his way through an array of girls. Something, which did not go, unnoticed by the other Geordie Shore lads. After chatting to the other lads, Sophie soon realised the score and not wanting to have the “p155 taken out of her by a boy” made the sad decision to dump Joel. But have we seen the last of him?

The next day brought a better mood to the house with the arrival of Vicky’s birthday and her family even paid her a visit. Ricci naturally went all out to impress his new girl with gifts such as a massive teddy bear and a meal which made the whole house cringe. A no expense spared house party to celebrate was soon planned to lift the housemate’s spirits. However Vicky’s party mood was cut short by the arrival of birthday presents from her ex-boyfriend Dan.

Vicky soon gave into temptation and unwrapped an expensive pair of shoes with matching handbag, with the other girls (and Ricci) looking on with jealousy. Ricci was evidently fuming that Vicky opened the presents in the first place and this was the catalyst for a massive brawl that was to take place in the house only a few hours later…

With the party in full swing (and Charlotte pulling Ricci’s friend) Ricci downed the shots and was soon “Mortal”. With the other housemates unimpressed with his immature behaviour the whole night, a brawl soon broke out between Gaz and Ricci!! James and other crew soon broke the brawl up, but it left shockwaves running through the house…

What will happen next week? Will Gaz or Ricci get punished for their behaviour? How will Vicky react to Ricci’s behaviour in front of her friends?

'Glee' cast join all-time digital download top ten

The cast of Glee have become the eighth highest-selling digital artists of all time, it has been revealed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the popular Fox show has sold 32 million downloads from its 58-show run so far.

They join the ranks of best-selling artists such as Lady GaGa, Katy Perry, The Black Eyed Peas and Rihanna.

The cast, including Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley and Lea Michele, have also set records on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, with 193 charted songs - including Riley's tribute cover of Whitney Houston's rendition of 'I Will Always Love You'. The track sold over 45,000 downloads in the wake of the late singer's death.

Glee has earned three consecutive number one soundtracks, as well as selling 42 million songs and 12 million albums worldwide.

The series, which is currently on hiatus, recently celebrated its 300th musical performance with a mash-up of Adele's Grammy winning songs 'Rumour Has It' and 'Someone Like You'.

Glee will return with new episodes on April 10 on Fox in the US. The show resumes its third season in the UK on March 1 on Sky1.

'Desperate Housewives' Trial: Potential Jurors Turn TV Critics

ury selection continued Tuesday in actress Nicollette Sheridan's civil case against "Desperate Housewives" creator Marc Cherry and Touchstone Television Productions.

Sheridan filed her suit against ABC and Cherry last year, claiming that she was unfairly ousted from the series after complaining that Cherry had slapped her during a 2008 argument.

Tuesday's proceedings may not have resulted in a seated jury -- questioning of potential jurors will resume at 1:30 p.m. PT Wednesday -- but it did offer some very non-focus group insights into how ABC and TV in general are perceived.

While the majority of those questioned said they did not watch "Desperate Housewives," several said they watched ABC's "Modern Family" and CBS's "NCIS" and several expressed disdain for reality programming,

Sheridan's attorney Mark Baute told one potential juror, a truck driver, that he was "shocked" that he has never watched "Desperate Housewives."

"How much TV do you watch?" Baute asked.

"Tons," said the man. He said that he liked "Two and Half Men."

When Baute asked if it was before or after Charlie Sheen left, the man said he watched both, then offered a mini-review.

"It's just as stupid now as it was then," he said. "I don't watch for inspiration. I watch for entertainment."

Asked what he knew about Nicollette Sheridan, he replied that, "I know that she's blonde."

He was dismissed.

A retired psychiatric nurse declared her love of the news and sports on TV, but allowed that she did like "Dancing Under The Stars." She was dismissed, too.

And in an apparent bid to determine if one potential juror knew that ABC was owned by Disney, Baute asked "Do you associate Disney with mouse ears or a conglomerate?"

Both Sheridan and Cherry were in court Tuesday.

She was wearing a three-piece blue suit, high heels and what appeared to be reading glasses. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail. Cherry was wearing a light grey jacket with dark grey pants and a lavender shirt with no tie.

Sheridan could take the stand on Wednesday afternoon or Thursday, depending on when a jury is seated.

At the end of the day, the judge instructed the potential jurors. "Don't go on the Internet. Don't go home and watch 'Desperate Housewives' -- if you can find it."

'Band of Brothers' Soldier 'Buck' Compton Dies at 90

World War II veteran Lynn D. "Buck" Compton, whose military heroics were chronicled in the 2001 HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers," died Saturday at his daughter's home in Burlington, Wash., after suffering a heart attack in January, the Los Angeles Times reports. He was 90.

Compton, who was portrayed by Neal McDonough in the miniseries, was a first lieutenant in Easy Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the Army's 101st Airborne Division.

Compton, who was among those who parachuted into Normandy on D-Day, was part of the group that destroyed German artillery during the battle at Brecourt Manor. During his tour in World War II, Compton also took part in Holland's Operation Market Garden and the Siege of Bastogne in Belgium.

Compton was awarded a Silver Star and a Purple Heart for his service.

In later years, Compton -- as a Los Angeles deputy district attorney in Los Angeles -- was part of the team that prosecuted Sirhan B. Sirhan for the assassination of U.S. Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in 1968. He was later appointed as a judge on the 2nd District Court of Appeal by then-California governor Ronald Reagan.

Compton's daughter, Syndee Compton, told the Times that her father was caught off-guard after gaining fame from the miniseries, which was based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's 1992 book of the same name.

"I think it probably shocked all of them," Compton said. "I don't think any of them in their wildest dream thought at 80 years of age they'd be getting this attention."

Compton is survived by his two daughters, Tracy and Syndee, and four grandchildren.

Dan Savage's MTV Sex Advice Show Gets an Airdate

MTV viewers are about to get some good sex advice.

The new series "Savage U," featuring columnist Dan Savage dispensing advice to college students, will debut Tuesday, April 3 at 11 p.m., MTV announced Tuesday.

Savage, author of the "Savage Love" advice column, started giving out jokey sex advice in the pages of Seattle newsweekly The Stranger two decades ago.

But as his readers started asking increasingly serious questions, the column evolved. It now features counsel on everything from sex toys to relationships to coming out to fighting discrimination.

Savage has also become a popular guest on politically-themed shows like "Real Time With Bill Maher" and "The Colbert Report" thanks to his takedowns of conservative politicians he deems bigoted or hypocritical. He's the man responsible for Republican presidental candidate Rick Santorum's Google problem. (He created an alternative meaning for the then-senator's name after Santorum compared homosexuality to bestiality.)

"Savage Love" has also led to books, a podcast, and the It Gets Better Project, which Savage and his husband, Terry Miller, started in 2010 in response to suicides by bullied gay teens.

MTV aired a special last week about the project, for which people from small-town teens to President Obama have posted video messages promising gay teens that their lives will improve.

"Savage U" will air twelve episodes, each focused on a particular campus and its culture. The schools include the University of Maryland, Ohio State University, East Carolina University, Auburn University, the University of Illinois Chicago, Cornell University, the University of Oregon, the University of Central Florida, Rhodes College, the University of California Irvine, Texas Tech University and Tulane University. The April 3 premiere episode takes place at the University of Maryland.

Savage will be joined on his visits to college campuses by producer Lauren Hurchinson, who will offer a female perspective on sex and relationships and, according to MTV, "rein Dan in and keep him in check."

"'Savage U’ gives viewers something seldom seen on television before: an honest conversation about sex," said Savage. "Sex is usually portrayed as either completely harmless, so everyone should do it, or unspeakably dangerous, so no one should.

"This is a real discussion about sex -- the good, the bad, and the ugly -- with all the risks, the rewards, the fun and the heartbreak that comes along with it. By talking candidly, we’re letting our audience make their own informed choices and feel empowered to seek out what’s right for them."

In our book, "Show Me The Funny!," top comedy writers from the golden age of TV to "Everybody Loves Raymond" to "There’s Something About Mary" take the same premise and each develop it into their own unique stories. And the bonus for readers is some unique Hollywood stories that emerged from these interviews.

In the 1970s on comedies like "M*A*S*H," "All in the Family" and "Maude," Larry Gelbart and Norman Lear took on a variety of social issues, but by the 1990’s, the networks were playing it safe.

Elliot Schoenman, show-runner on "Home Improvement," wanted to do a day in the life of a family whose child has had medical tests and they are waiting to find out if he has cancer. What would those 24 hours be like? Even within the serious subject matter the writers found humor.

“Before they go to the doctor’s appointment,” Elliot said, “there’s a lemon meringue pie, and Tim’s wife, Jill, says to him; ‘Don’t eat that. We’re taking it to my sister’s.’ So she goes, and he looks around and he takes a spatula, and he cuts off the top, lifts it, and scoops out a whole chunk of the lemon, and puts it back. And we just left it.”

Later in the episode the family gets the news that their son might have cancer. Elliot and his partner wrote a serious scene between husband and wife.

Jill says: “I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself. I’ve got to have a piece of the pie.” Tim panics. And she digs into the pie, and there’s no bottom to it. And it got a tremendous laugh. The audience went with it. Elliot told us; “You’re worried about cancer, but once she went for that fork, there was a tremendous relief.”

The network said; “You can’t do a cancer episode.” Elliot went to Tim Allen, “This is one time you have to throw your weight around.” They shot the episode over ABC’s objections. It came in No. 1 in its time slot. The next day an executive from the network made a guest appearance in the Writers’ Room. ABC wanted to know, “What other serious things do you have?’”

Bob Myer faced a similar situation when he was show-runner on "Roseanne," but this time it was the star who wanted to take the risk. The writers were working on an episode about a Lamaze class. They thought it would be funny if somebody in the class asked Roseanne about her birth experiences. Because they had established that she adored her children, they started asking: Did she go through Lamaze? Did she go through natural childbirth? Were there drugs?

The bit Roseanne wanted to do was a variation on the famous Jack Benny “Your-money-or-your-life” radio moment. “When I had my third child, I hadn’t lost the weight from my second child, and they said, ‘If we give you drugs, enough drugs to sedate you, it could kill the baby.

So I thought to myself…’”

She came up with this line at a run-through. Bob told us: “She’s not going to say, ‘I considered killing my baby.’"

So we wrote it out ... and we got a call from the stage saying, "She wants to do this joke; she feels she can make it funny." And I said, “Who am I to argue with a woman who is one of the biggest stars in comedy?"

The audience went crazy.

"Because it’s Roseanne,” Bob said, “she would have a take like that. But I never thought it would be that one.”

Charlie Sheen's 'Anger Management,' Russell Brand's Talk Show Get Premiere Dates

FX will kick off its summer comedy slate with a packed night on June 28, starting with back-to-back episodes of Charlie Sheen's new venture "Anger Management," the network said Monday.

On the same night, Russell Brand's new talk show "Strangely Uplifting" will debut, and the new seasons of "Wilfred" and "Louie" will premiere.

"Anger Management" will air two new episodes at 9 p.m. and 9:30, after which the show will run Thursdays at 9:30, with the previous week's episode airing at 9 p.m. The adaptation of the Jack Nicholson-Adam Sandler movie stars Sheen as Charlie, a non-traditional therapist who specializes in anger management. Selma Blair, Shawnee Smith, Daniela Bobadilla, Michael Arden and Noureen DeWulf co-star.

Season two of the Elijah Wood comedy "Wilfred" will bow at 10 p.m. with an episode guest-starring Robin Williams, followed by the Season 3 premiere of Louis C.K.'s "Louie" at 10:30.

At 11 p.m., the network will unveil "Strangely Uplifting," featuring Russell Brand offering his rapid-fire take on politics, pop culture, and whatever else crosses his mind. The six-episode season will be filmed in front of a live audience, and marks the first television deal for Brand's production company, Branded Films.

The cast, as revealed on "Good Morning America" Tuesday, also includes singer and "The Bold and the Beautiful" star Jack Wagner, "Extra" host Maria Menounos, singer Gavin DeGraw and R&B legend Gladys Knight (sans Pips).

The 14th season of "DWTS" will premiere March 19 on ABC. War veteran-turned-actor J.R. Martinez was the winner of the show's 13th season.

Ratings: Fox Tops With Daytona 500 as 'Two and a Half Men' Hits Series Low

Fox scored a narrow ratings victory Monday thanks to a fiery Daytona 500 race, while "The Voice" was the top-rated show and "Two and a Half Men" and two other CBS comedies hit series lows, according to preliminary numbers.

The rain-delayed race resulted in another indignity to CBS's Monday-night slate, which dominated in the fall but has lost ground to NBC's "The Voice" since its debut earlier this month.

Fox was first in the ratings and total viewership Monday, averaging a 4.5 rating/11 share in the adults 18-49 demographic and 14.2 million total viewers. It aired the race, which stunned viewers with Juan Pablo Montoya's fiery crash, from 8 to 10 p.m.

NBC, in second place in ratings and total viewership with an average 4.4/11 in the demo and 12.1 million, ran "The Voice" from 8 to 10 p.m. It had a 5.4/13 in the demo -- a 10 percent dip from last week -- and 14.8 million total viewers. "Smash" at 10 saw a slight increase in the demo for a 2.4/6 and 6.9 million total viewers.

CBS was third in ratings and total viewership. It averaged a 3.1/8 in the demo and 10 million total viewers, with dips across the board for its Monday night lineup and series lows for "Men," How I Met You Mother," and "2 Broke Girls."

"How I Met Your Mother" at 8 had a 3.6/10 in the demo and 9.1 million total viewers, while "2 Broke Girls" at 8:30 had a 3.7/9 and 10.1 million. "Two and a Half Men" at 9 was down 14 percent in the demo with a 3.6/9, and had 11.8 million total viewers. "Mike & Molly" at 9:30 dropped 15 percent to a season low of 2.9/7 in the demo and had 10 million total viewers. "Hawaii 5-0" at 10 dropped 14 percent, hitting a season low of 2.5/6 in the demo. It had 9.4 million total viewers.

Despite modest increases, ABC came in fourth for the night in ratings and total viewership with an average 2.4/6 in the demo and 8.3 million total viewers. "The Bachelor" at 8 enjoyed a slight uptick from last week, taking a 2.6/6 in the demo and 8 million total viewers. "Castle" was also up slightly, receiving a 2.2/5 in the demo and 9 million total viewers.

Victoria Gotti has predicted that Clay Aiken will win The Celebrity Apprentice.

Gotti was the second celebrity to be fired by Donald Trump on Sunday's Celebrity Apprentice after sparing with Team Forte project manager Lisa Lampanelli in the boardroom.

When asked by Acces Hollywood to predict who Trump will hire in the season finale, Gotti singled out Aiken rather than anyone on her former team Forte.

"Clay is smart. Clay is good," she insisted. "He's strategic."

Gotti added of her support for Aiken: "He can be ballsy if he needs to be, but thankfully he doesn't have to be.

"He focuses on the game, but he holds his stuff for the end… He's gonna take this."

Trump also recently praised Aiken's business acumen by claiming that the American Idol star was a "great singer, a tough guy and nasty" during the competition.

Charlie Brooker's dark comedy Black Mirror and Ricky Gervais's Life's Too Short are among the nominations at this year's Rose d'Or Festival.

UK TV dominates the lineup of nominations, which have been cut down to 36 shows across categories including 'Comedy', 'Gameshow', 'Series', 'Factual Entertainment' and 'Lifestyle'.

Black Mirror is up for the 'Comedy' gong, while Warwick Davis mockumentary Life's Too Short will be up against Channel 4's Simon Bird series Friday Night Dinner in the battle for best 'Sitcom'.

Mary Berry's BBC Two hit The Great British Bake Off is in the 'Best Lifestyle' category alongside ITV1's May The Best House Win.

BBC Three's Don't Tell The Bride represents the UK in the 'Factual Entertainment' group, while The Cube and Million Pound Drop are aiming for the 'Gameshow' gong.

British drama is represented by Bill Nighy's Page Eight in the 'TV Movie' list, while Sky1's The Runaway and ITV1's week-long drama The Jury are competing for 'Series'.

BBC import Pan Am, which airs on ABC in the US, is also nominated for best 'Series'.

Meanwhile, ITV1's fundraising celebrity reality series Born to Shine is nominated for 'Live Event Show'.

The Rose d'Or Festival takes place from May 6-10 in Lucerne.

Craig Roberts has claimed that there is "a lot of fucking around" on Being Human.

The Submarine star will reprise his role as vampire Adam on the paranormal drama this Sunday.

"Adam's just an excuse for me to fuck around," he told SFX. "Not that I don't like the script, which is awesome, but it's cool that you get freedom [with the lines].

"I think they trust that I won't be too ridiculous with it... although I have been too ridiculous with it in this episode! It's ridiculous. It's the end of my career."

Roberts also revealed that he would be happy to return to Being Human for a third time.

"They left it open again - they haven't killed [Adam] off, so I could be coming back, any time I want," he suggested. "I could come back and I probably would - it's just a laugh.

"The crew are cool, the cast are cool and like I said, you get freedom - you don't have to stick to the lines. Even though the lines are good and it's a really well-written show."

Being Human continues on Sundays at 9pm on BBC Three. In the US, the new series airs on Saturdays at 9/8c on BBC America.

Sarah Harding, Chris Moyles for Sky1 talent show 'Don't Stop Me Now'

Sky1 talent show Don't Stop Me Now has signed up a selection of top name guests including Chris Moyles and Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding.

Don't Stop Me Now is Sky1's attempt to provide a talent show with a twist as the entertainment derives from "getting rid of the dross" rather than sob stories, nasty judges and video montages.

Hosted by Amanda Byram, the series will feature singers, comedians and variety acts performing for a studio audience in the hope of winning £25,000.

However, if they get voted off the show, the act will be literally ejected from the studio. Methods of exit include horizontal bungees, exploding stages and trap doors.

Moyles and Harding are among a list of celebrity commentators who will join Byram on the programme.

Freddie Flintoff, David Haye, Got to Dance duo Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Banjo, Micky Flanagan, Louie Spence and Sally Lindsay are among the other stars lined up to appear.

Byram said: "I'm so excited for Don't Stop Me Now to hit the screens! It was so much fun filming what I call a 'talent show with a twist, crash bang and wallop!' We found some very unique and fantastic talent along the way, while others had their dreams left in tatters as they were quite literally 'swept' off the stage."

'Doctor Who', 'Celebrity Juice' nominated in RTS Programme Awards 2011

Doctor Who and Luther are among the shows nominated in this year's RTS Programme Awards.

The second series of Idris Elba crime drama Luther will compete against ITV1's Scott And Bailey and BBC Three's The Fades in the 'Drama Series' category.

Meanwhile, Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat will face Eric & Ernie's Peter Bowker and Appropriate Adult's Neil McKay for the 'Writer - Drama' award.

Doctor Who spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures and CBBC's Tracy Beaker have also been nominated as best children's drama, while Eric & Ernie is up against Channel 4's Random and BBC Two's United for the title of best single drama.

The Crimson Petal & The White, The Promise and Top Boy will fight it out for the 'Drama Serial' award, while acting nominations include Daniel Rigby (Eric & Ernie), John Simm (Exile) and Dominic West (Appropriate Adult) for 'Actor (Male)' and Vicky McClure (This Is England '88), Ruth Negga (Shirley) and Emily Watson (Appropriate Adult) for 'Actor (Female)'.

Him & Her's Russell Tovey and Sarah Solemani have been jointly nominated in the comedy performance category, alongside Spy's Darren Boyd and Rev. star Tom Hollander.

Rev. has also received an RTS nod for best scripted comedy, competing against Channel 4's Fresh Meat and E4's Phoneshop.

Fresh Meat and Rev. will also compete for the 'Writer - Comedy' award, with the former's Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong and the latter's James Wood and Tom Hollander facing Friday Night Dinner creator Robert Popper.

In the entertainment categories, Ant and Dec have been recognised for their work on I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, Red or Black, Push The Button and Britain's Got Talent.

The 'Entertainment Performance' nominees also include James Corden for Sky1's A League Of Their Own and Celebrity Juice host Keith Lemon.

Finally, Derren Brown's The Experiments will compete against Million Pound Drop and The Graham Norton Show for best entertainment programme.

'The Wire' star Dominic West admits to writing on TV internet forums

The Wire star Dominic West has admitted to reading about himself online and joining discussions about his work on internet forums.

West, who is currently working on the second series of BBC Two drama The Hour, claimed that no-one ever believes it is him when he confronts them online about derogatory remarks.

"I like to have chats about myself with people - mainly putting forward the case for the defence in forums. I use my own name but nobody ever believes me," he told the Radio Times.

West also confessed to watching back his own work when it airs on TV.

"I don't particularly like watching myself on the TV but I do like to check that none of my lines have been cut," he said.

"One or two ended up on the cutting-room floor [in The Hour] but that was mostly due to my occasional bad acting."

The six new episodes of The Hour will feature the broadcast team "deeply embroiled in cover-ups, sexual intrigues and the resurgence of Mosley's fascism" and will have the "looming spectre of the Cold War" as its backdrop. The Thick of It comic Peter Capaldi, Hannah Tointon and Tom Burke have joined the cast for the second series.

Filming started in December in London and the new run is expected to air in summer 2012.

'Hollyoaks' actor Barry Sloane joins ABC pilot 'Gotham'

Barry Sloane has landed a lead role in ABC pilot Gotham.

The drama will focus on Annie Travers, a female cop who discovers a magical world that exists within New York.

British actor Sloane - best known for his roles in UK soaps Hollyoaks and Brookside - will play detective Boyo, according to Deadline.

A denizen of Gotham, Boyo becomes Annie's new partner when she arrives in the magical world.

The River's Michael Green has written the Gotham pilot, which will be helmed by I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence.

Other drama pilots in development at ABC include a Beauty And The Beast update and a sci-fi project starring Martin Landau.

A remake of Dutch crime series Penoza and Devious Maids from Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry are also in the works.

The rapper claimed that he would be able to survive any situation in the wild just like the television explorer and described himself as a "water baby".

The N-Dubz star told Capital FM: "I'm the new Bear Grylls. My pops was born in Egypt and he's got this thing about man against nature – spears, wild boar, fishing.

"He came over to this country and he tried to get a pigeon the first day as a pet. Since that day, he told me, 'I'm going to take you fishing when you're older'.

"He took me fishing and I've got that vibe. I've got that whole thing, I've got that in me, man. Put me anywhere and I'll get out alive. I love fishing; I'm a water baby. I love paintballing and outdoor activities."

He added: "Fishing is something that will always stay with me, I love it to death. Catching a big massive carp, who would have thought that's exciting?"

David Hasselhoff on 'Britain's Got Talent' axe: 'I can't break hearts'

David Hasselhoff has opened up about his departure from Britain's Got Talent, admitting that he found it too difficult to "break someone's heart".

The Baywatch actor confirmed that he was axed as a judge after just one series last year, but doubted whether he would return for the 2012 competition if Simon Cowell had offered.

"I don't like to say no, it's hard. I'm not good at being rude," The Mirror quotes him as saying. "I'm not good at being honest when I know it's going to break someone's heart.

"We only signed for a year and when I left [Cowell's] last words were, 'Fantastic, you did a great job'. If I was invited back, and I wasn't, I'm not sure I would have come back."

However, Hasselhoff insisted that he has no hard feelings over his Britain's Got Talent exit.

"I have nothing but respect for Simon and everyone on that show," he said. "They're still my great friends."

The new series of Britain's Got Talent, which features Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the panel, will air on ITV1 in the spring.

'Whitechapel' latest episode delivers 5.7m on ITV1

ITV1's Whitechapel remained consistent last night, with the latest instalment grabbing almost 5.7m, according to overnight data.

The Rupert Penry-Jones drama took 5.65m (23.8%) from 9pm with a further 207k (1.2%) on timeshift.

Earlier that night, The Dales earned 4.17m (17%) from 8pm (+1: 158k/0.7%).

On BBC One, Panorama was seen by 2.63m (11%) from 8.30pm. Empire followed with 3.9m (16.5%).

The latest University Challenge appealed to 2.82m (11.5%) on BBC Two, with The Bleak Old Shop of Stuff (1.18m/4.9%) and The Tube (1.85m/7.8%) airing afterwards.

Channel 4's Superscrimpers: Waste Not, Want Not managed 1.42m (5.8%) in the 8pm hour (+1: 292k/1.2%) and Coppers took 1.58m (6.7%) from 9pm (+1: 390k/2.4%).

Meanwhile, Channel 5 aired Police Interceptors (1.07m/4.4%) and Royal Marines: Mission Afghanistan (888k/3.7%).

Overall, ITV1 surged to primetime victory with 25.8% (+1: 0.7%) ahead of BBC One's 19.7%. BBC Two came third with 6.3%. Channel 4 and Channel 5 had 5.8% (+1: 1.1%) and 3.4% respectively.

On the multichannels, E4's Skins continued to improve week-on-week as Nick's episode grabbed 455k (2.8%). However, only 47k (0.6%) caught it on +1.

VH1's Emmy award-winning "Rock Docs" franchise will premiere two new documentaries during the SXSW Film Festival. Magnolia Pictures' "Marley," the first film to tell the definitive life story of revolutionary music icon Bob Marley, will be making its North American premiere at SXSW on March 11th at 5:30PM CT. In addition, "UPRISING: Hip Hop and The L.A. Riots," narrated and executive produced by rapper Snoop Dogg, is set to make its world premiere at SXSW on March 14th at 10PM CT. An exclusive preview of VH1's upcoming documentary "Downloaded: The Digital Revolution," the story of the rise and fall of Napster, will also be seen at the SXSW Film Festival followed by a rare panel discussion with creators Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker on March 14th at 2PM CT.

"Marley," a documentary about legendary musician Bob Marley will premiere on March 11th at 5:30PM CT at SXSW. Made with the unprecedented support of the Marley family, "Marley" is the first film to tell the definitive life story of the musician, revolutionary, and legend, from his earliest days to his rise to international superstardom. Along with an incredible soundtrack, the film features rare footage, archival photos, and incredible performances and interviews with his family, friends, and bandmates - the people that knew him best. "Marley" is directed by Academy Award-winner Kevin Macdonald and produced by Steve Bing and Charles Steel, and executive produced by Bob's son Ziggy Marley and Island Records founder Chris Blackwell. "UPRISING: Hip Hop and the LA Riots," will make its debut at SXSW. The documentary is told from the diverse perspective of the rappers, musicians, police officers and victims who lived through the landmark LA Riots in April, 1992. With definitive accounts of the four fiery days that left 53 people dead, over 12,000 arrested and put a searing spotlight on race relations and American pop culture, viewers will also hear never-before-heard stories from well known figures and hip hop artists who were effected by or actual participants in the riots, including: Rodney King, Arsenio Hall, John Singleton, Too Short, KRS-One, Nas, Sir Jinx, DJ Yella, and others. The documentary will examine the relationship between the violence manifested on the streets and the rage expressed in hip-hop music. Narrated and executive produced by acclaimed rapper Snoop Dogg and directed by Mark Ford for Creatures Film, the documentary will premiere at the SXSW Film Festival on Wednesday, March 14th at 10PM CT.
