Chris Colfer on 'Glee' body swap: 'It was hard'

Chris Colfer on 'Glee' body swap: 'It was hard'

Chris Colfer has opened up about Glee's body-swapping episode.

It was recently confirmed that the Fox show's cast members will swap roles for a special two-hour season finale.

"I really thought I had the hardest one because they were really hard to nail - they're not over the top by any means," Colfer told TV Line.

"But it was also nerve-wracking because I didn't want to disrespect anybody!" he added.

He went on to talk about what it was like to play a new character.

"It's kind of like a switch in your mind," Colfer said. "You see yourself in a different mirror, and then you go for it!"

Glee continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Fox. UK viewers can watch it Thursdays at 9pm on Sky1.

The Block moving to Sundays after The Voice auditions end

The Block moving to Sundays after The Voice auditions end

Good news for other networks with The Voice no longer scheduled on Sunday nights after this coming weekend.

The Block will air six nights a week, added to 6:30pm Sundays from April 29 (those ”7 O’Block” promos will apply to weeknights).

Presumably this will be the show’s weekly “Room Reveal” episode. Friday night episodes will comprise highlights.

Next Monday The Voice airs at 8pm and on Tuesday at 7:30pm. But a week later the times are reversed. Hopefully the changes don’t affect the goodwill with the audience. Nine has a break-out hit and needs to tread carefully while it enjoys audience support.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: 'Veep wardobe is inspired by Michelle Obama'

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: 'Veep wardobe is inspired by Michelle Obama'

Julia Louis-Dreyfus in good spirits as she leaves a medical building in Beverly Hills Los Angeles

Julia Louis-Dreyfus has revealed the inspiration behind her wardrobe in the new series Veep.

Veep follows former Senator-turned-Vice President Selina Meyer (Louis-Dreyfus), who discovers her position in the White House isn't what she expected.

Although Louis-Dreyfus descrives Meyer as "not as chic as Michelle Obama", she told People that her wardrobes are inspired by the US First Lady "so we can move it slightly away from the square look - no offence".

Louis-Dreyfus also expressed her admiration for Obama, who she considers her "icon".

"I adore her," she added. "Oh my God, look how she puts the belt around the sweater! I don't feel as though I'm as cool as she is."

The former Seinfeld actress previously revealed that viewers will never know what political party Meyer represents and the president will not make an appearance.

'Game of Thrones' Alfie Allen: 'I'd love to play Arya Stark'

'Game of Thrones' Alfie Allen: 'I'd love to play Arya Stark'

Alfie Allen has revealed which actors he would have loved to have portrayed in Game of Thrones.

Allen plays Theon Greyjoy in the HBO series, who was taken hostage by Eddard Stark (Sean Bean) and was raised along with the Stark family. Greyjoy, who becomes close friends with Eddard's eldest son Robb Stark (Richard Madden), is the son of Balon Greyjoy (Patrick Malahide).

"It's so boring, though," Allen told The Mary Sue. "Because everyone really likes her. I love Arya (Maisie Williams), but [she's] everyone's choice. I love Arya's character."

Allen also said that he would like to play Melisandre of Asshai (Carice van Houten) and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).

The English actor also discussed how he approaches his "complex character".

"I try to play the part as honestly as I can," Allen shared. "I've been living with Robb Stark for almost four years now. In my brain, Arya is my sister; Bran is my brother.

"So, I can react to them in a very honest way, it just gets complicated sometimes because the lines get blurred."

Hardcore gay porn interrupts TV news broadcast

Hardcore gay porn interrupts TV news broadcast

Hardcore gay pornography was accidentally played during a local morning news broadcast on a Canadian television channel.

On Friday morning, around three minutes of indecent sex scenes were played to viewers of CHCH-TV in Hamilton, Ontario, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The broadcast was also played in some homes in the Canadian capital Ottawa.

The station's vice president of news Mike Katrycz issued an apology, explaining that the pornography originated at a local cable company.

The company had accidentally inserted the wrong programming during a repair of cut cable lines. Because the content originated off-site, it took station controllers a few minutes to take it off the air.

Katrycz stated: "In the splicing together, unfortunately, some inappropriate content went to air.

"Of course, we know there are kids out there, there are people who don't want this in their homes and would never invite this in our homes."

Want us to watch your show? Start them on time!

Want us to watch your show? Start them on time!

Late starting times are now getting out of hand….

We’ve put up with delays of five, six, seven minutes but now it’s getting beyond a joke.

Last night The Amazing Race on Seven started at 10:50pm after being advertised at 10:30pm. Why?

Titanic was due to start at 8:30pm according to all the ads, Seven’s online Guide and print guides, but it began at around 8:45pm. Australia’s Got Talent was also late because Home and Away ran overtime. Again.

And the daily culprit was Today Tonight, which is incapable of finishing on time despite Seven News miraculously starting on the dot of 6pm day in, day out. It does this in order to sync with regional broadcasters.

None of last night’s programmes after 7pm were live -all were pre-recorded, edited and delivered to the network. So why didn’t Seven update its online EPG?

Maybe everybody on Fango should start complaining about this topic.

However, Seven is hardly alone in this habit.

Last week I waited for a 7:30pm episode of Bondi Vet. It started at 7:42pm after The Biggest Loser. I took note not to bother with Bondi Vet again after that. Who lets a 30 minute show run for 42 and thinks this is acceptable?

Nine also runs shows overtime with repetition. The Block and Celebrity Apprentice were appalling in this last year.

ABC and SBS seem to be much closer to the mark than commercials as far as I can see.

Networks are doubly shooting themselves in the foot over this.

If your show is late, we’ll just record it and watch it in our own time. That means we won’t have to watch it Live, we won’t see your sponsor ads, and you won’t get the overnight ratings.

At least viewers with Foxtel’s EPG can see accurate times (including for FTA), which I presume must also be available elsewhere. Maybe readers can fill me in.

So while networks are struggling to compete with Nine’s breakout show The Voice maybe they should create a point of difference by actually starting theirs on time?

Rumour: The Block returns to Bondi?

Rumour: The Block returns to Bondi?

Last July TV Tonight gave the good oil that a South Melbourne property was set to become the next site for The Block.

That tip has since come true.

TV Tonight now hears whispers that the show could be returning to its original stomping ground of Bondi for 2013.

Nine were tight-lipped on the matter when quizzed on the next possible location.

The Sydney beachside ‘burb was the location for the breakout series in 2003 (pictured) and having had two back to back seasons in Melbourne, the time may be right to return ten years later.

Tonight contestants will get to choose their preferred property -but this series also has a twist….

Gotye: 'Glee's Somebody That I Used To Know cover was ultra dry'

Gotye: 'Glee's Somebody That I Used To Know cover was ultra dry'

Gotye has said that he was not impressed by Glee's cover of his song 'Somebody That I Used to Know'.

The Australian singer's hit was featured on the April 10 episode of the Fox show, where it was performed by series star Darren Criss and White Collar's Matt Bomer.

"They did such a faithful arrangement of the instruments but the vocals were that pop Glee style, ultra dry, sounded pretty tuned and the rock has no real sense, like it's playing to you from a cardboard box," Gotye told The Sunday Mail.

"It made it sound dinky and wrong," he continued.

Gotye performed the hit song on Saturday Night Live on April 14.

Ana Matronic: 'I would join The Voice UK full time'

Ana Matronic: 'I would join The Voice UK full time'

Ana Matronic has said that she would take a full-time role on The Voice UK if the opportunity arose.

The Scissor Sisters singer, who recently appeared as a guest mentor for Jessie J's team on the BBC One talent show, told Metro that she would relish the chance to lead her own team of hopefuls on the show.

"If they ask me, I would take a role on The Voice," she said. "In my dream I would be a coach for every contestant, that way I wouldn't have to choose between them. I would be everyone's cheerleader."

The vocalist continued: "I don't see it as a reality show, it's a talent show. It was good to see people with huge talent getting support from established people in the industry and that's what attracted me to it when I was asked to do the UK show.

"I don't see The Voice as a reality show - the Kardashians is a reality show and that has nothing to do with talent."

She added that while she would would "name no names", she "saw several" stars of the future during her time on the show.

Matronic recently revealed that she gains most pleasure out of appearing on stage with Jake Shears and the rest of her Scissor Sisters bandmates.

Cheryl Cole 'plans to tell all about Simon Cowell in autobiography'

Cheryl Cole 'plans to tell all about Simon Cowell in autobiography'

Cheryl Cole is reportedly planning to discuss Simon Cowell in a new tell-all autobiography.

The former X Factor judge is said to be embarrassed and "creeped out" after Cowell, who she saw as an "uncle" figure, admitted in unauthorised biography Sweet Revenge: The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell that he was "mesmerised" by her.

"I would have liked an affair with Cheryl. I felt like a mouse being played with by a beautiful cat. She would come in dressed in her tracksuit and slippers, drop her eyes and play the soulful victim to get around me. She played me. I adored her," Cowell is quoted as saying in the book.

The autobiography will be published by Harper Collins in November and Cole has already chosen a ghostwriter, according to the Sunday Mirror.

Cole told a friend: "How could he embarrass me like this? He was an uncle figure to me and to think all along he was trying to hit on me. It's disgusting and creepy. I'll never work for that man again."

The memoirs will apparently reveal how Cowell told her to dump husband Ashley Cole and end her romance with Derek Hough - after he had helped her as she recovered from malaria and divorced Ashley.

She will also tell how she felt "stitched up" after accepting her X Factor USA role only to be axed, as well as discussing her time in Girls Aloud.

"Cheryl's been thinking about doing this for a long time and has spent months preparing, going through old diaries. She wants no stone left unturned. After remaining silent for so long it feels like the right time to speak out," a source said.

"She will share all the ins and outs of her marriage breakdown as well as her life as a member of Girls Aloud. She won't be going out to attack people but equally she wants to set the record straight.

"This week has hardened her up and made her realise it's time to answer her critics once and for all. As for Ashley, he's now blaming Simon for the breakdown of his marriage and thinks he could have kept things together with Cheryl if it hadn't been for his meddling."

'Vampire Diaries' Star Ian Somerhalder Hosts 'The Influence Affair'; Raises Funds for a Greener Future

'Vampire Diaries' Star Ian Somerhalder Hosts 'The Influence Affair'; Raises Funds for a Greener Future

The CW actor was joined by his co-star girlfriend, Nina Dobrev, at the intimate benefit in Bel Air.

Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder is doing what he can to make the world a greener place. The actor and his namesake organization hosted The Influence Affair in Bel Air Saturday evening, the night before Earth Day 2012, in an effort to connect business leaders, change makers and visionaries to propel society toward "a better, kinder and greener future."

Somerhalder stopped by the THR Cover Lounge on Wednesday to discuss why he founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation.

"I realized as an adult it's not me, or you, or anyone running this camera or anyone sitting in this room who is going to actively make people change their minds, it's going to take a generation," he said. "The only way to do that is with the youth of the world."

The night at The Hadid Residence featured Sounds by DJ Josh LeCash and a live musical performance by Capital Cities. The event was also celebrating the Let's Get Dirty campaign, during which businesses, organizations and more than 2,000 schools participated in a massive clean-up effort.

“The coming together of like-minded individuals through action is what's needed to see wide spread change for us, our planet and its creatures," Somerhalder said in a statement to THR. "This event provides a platform for individuals who want to see tangible results through active collaboration between celebrities, business leaders and individuals.”

Joining Somerhalder at the event was Vampire Diaries co-star and girlfriend Nina Dobrev, as well as co-star Persia White, Pretty Little Liars' Julian Morris, Shahs of Sunset's Anita Gohari, graffiti artist Erik Wahl, Hart of Dixie's Scott Porter and former Lost co-star Maggie Grace.

Somerhalder tweeted after the party was over, "Thank you- The Influence Affair was magical..."

"The @IS_Foundation was such a inspiring and beautiful affair. Congrats to everyone involved, what a success!" Dobrev tweeted Sunday to her more than 2 million followers.

RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Finder’ Rises, ‘Grimm’ Drops, Univision Tops Night

RATINGS RAT RACE: ‘The Finder’ Rises, ‘Grimm’ Drops, Univision Tops Night

Fox’s The Finder refuses to die a quiet death on graveyard Friday. In its third Friday airing last night, the Bones spinoff posted a 1.2/4 in adults 18-49, up 33% from last week and a Friday high. But there is a caveat – The Finder aired against all-repeats on the other major networks last night vs. mostly originals the previous two weeks, including Friday’s top-rated series, CBS’ Undercover Boss, which was replaced by comedy reruns last night (Mike & Molly, 0.9/4, Rules Of Engagement, 0.8/3). Finder‘s mate Fringe (1.0/3) inched up a tenth from last week’s series low.

Can someone explain to me ABC’s scheduling strategy for Shark Tank? Against all odds, the low-key reality series came back strong this season and has done well against fierce unscripted competition in the Friday 8 PM hour: Undercover Boss and, until recently, Fox’s Kitchen Nightmares. But ABC sidelined the show for almost a month, airing repeats, then brought it back last week with an original only to switch to a rerun again this week. Even in repeat, the series did OK, pulling in a 1.2/4 to tie The Finder as the highest-rated program at 8 PM last night.

With CBS’ lineup and ABC’s 20/20 and Shark Tank in repeats, NBC’s Dateline (1.4/4) was the highest-rated program of the night in 18-49. NBC and ABC were tied for first place among the English-language broadcast networks with a paltry 1.2/4 in the demo. They were eclipsed by Univision, which won the night with a 1.4 demo rating.

The other two originals on the Big 4 last night were NBC’s Grimm (1.3/6), which was down 19% from last week, and ABC’s Primetime: What Would You Do? (1.3/4) down 7%. On the CW, both Nikita (0.4/2) and Supernatural (0.6/2) matched their series low in their return to originals last night. Nikita was even with its last fresh episode three weeks ago, Supernatural was down a tenth.

Megaupload Copyright Case Could Hinge On Issue Of Jurisdiction: Report

Megaupload Copyright Case Could Hinge On Issue Of Jurisdiction: Report

The federal criminal copyright case against Megaupload founder Kim DotCom in the United States may never go to trial because although DotCom has been served with court papers, his file-sharing company hasn’t, according to a New Zealand newspaper’s coverage of the case in the U.S. Federal judge Liam O’Grady said he didn’t know if “we are ever going to have a trial in this matter” after he was informed Megaupload had not been served with criminal papers.

Dotcom’s U.S.-based attorneyIra Rothken said “We don’t believe Megaupload can be Kim DotComserved in a criminal matter because it is not located within the jurisdiction of the United States.” Prosecutor Jay Prabhu told the Virginia court hearing that might not matter because Dotcom owned 68% of the company. Instead of a corporation that might show up for a trial, Prabu suggested it was a case “seven people who actually don’t want to show up.”

Dotcom faces a court hearing for extradition to the United States after a warrant was issued for him and six others on criminal copyright charges relating to music and movies on its computer servers. O’Grady raised the possible lack of a trial during arguments over FBI applications to wipe Megaupload’s vast database of members’ files. O’Grady said those motions to erase  the data on 1100 computer servers seized from Megaupload could be “premature” and requested more information on why Megaupload had not been served.

Mia Kirshner And Fionnula Flanagan Join Syfy Series ‘Defiance’

Mia Kirshner And Fionnula Flanagan Join Syfy Series ‘Defiance’

Mia Kirshner (The Vampire Diaries, The L Word) and Fionnula Flanagan (Lost) have joined the cast of Syfy’s new drama series Defiance. Set in the near future, Defiance introduces a completely transformed planet Earth, inhabited by the survivors of a universal war. It centers on Jeb Nolan (Grant Bowler), the law-keeper in bustling frontier boomtown Defiance that is one of the new world’s few oasis of civility and inclusion. Kirshner, repped by APA and Brillstein Entertainment, will play Kenya, the self-assured, dauntless town madam whose unvarying devotion to the town of Defiance has inexorably woven her into many of its complicated affairs.

Flanagan will portray Nicky, the popular ex-mayor of the town whose intrinsic expertise from her years on the job have made her a trusted mentor to her successor, Amanda (Julie Benz). Defiance, written/executive produced by Rockne S. O’Bannon, Kevin Murphy and Michael Taylor and produced by Universal Cable Prods., was developed concurrently with an online video game. It is slated to begin production on the pilot this month in Toronto.

Lifetime Pilot ‘American Housewife’ Starring Melanie Griffith Not Going Forward

Lifetime Pilot ‘American Housewife’ Starring Melanie Griffith Not Going Forward

Lifetime has passed on drama pilot American Housewife. It starred Melanie Griffith who executive produced it with husband/producing partner Antonio Banderas. The pilot was written/executive produced by Erik Jendresen based on an idea by him and Banderas. Directed by David Slade and produced by Fox TV Studios, American Housewife centered on Leila (Griffith), a seemingly perfect housewife living the American Dream in an affluent neighborhood, married to wealthy up-and-coming politician Stanford (Jeffrey Nordling) with whom she has three grown or almost-grown children.

Ray Ricord also executive produced. The pressure on Lifetime’s development has let off a bit with the successful launch of new drama series Client List, which logged the network’s strongest debut in three years. American Housewife is the second of the most recent batch of three Lifetime pilots to get a pass following Modern Love. The third one is two-hour movie/backdoor pilot Sworn To Silence toplined by Hewitt’s Party Of Five co-star Neve Campbell, which doesn’t have an airdate yet.

James Argent: 'I proved the haters wrong by doing London Marathon'

The Only Way Is Essex's James 'Arg' Argent has taken to Twitter to celebrate completing the London Marathon today.
