Is this The Block 2012?

Is this The Block 2012?

On Monday TV Tonight ran a rumour that Melbourne would again be the setting for the next season of The Block.

Nine has now confirmed that rumour.

But while South Yarra was floated as a possible site it may have only been half right.

Attention now swings to South Melbourne and to four rundown terrace properties that were recently sold in Dorcas Street.

Each has separate titles, with plans and permits already in place to add third stories at the rear, that would allow for views of the city. The sale sign for the property has an artist’s impression of what could be possible (pictured). But it would never finish like that under 4 designers.

Although the location is on a road with considerable public access, the area has previously been used for other film and television shoots.

And just as the current series of The Block has a celebrity neighbour in Molly Meldrum, so too does this site.

Dallas Returning to TV in 2012

Dallas Returning to TV in 2012

In 2010, TNT announced it would order a pilot for the continuation of the Dallas series. The pilot was filmed in and around the city of Dallas in early 2011. The remaining nine episodes in the first season order are currently being shot in Dallas as well, based in studios constructed for the FOX television series The Good Guys. Production began in late August 2011

Dallas is an upcoming American drama television series that revolves around the Ewings, a wealthy Texas family in the oil and cattle-ranching industries. The series is a continuation of the original series of the same name that aired on CBS from 1978 to 1991, and is not a reboot. It will include several actors/characters from the original series, though will focus mainly around John Ross Ewing III and Christopher Ewing, the now-adult sons of Ewing brothers J.R. and Bobby respectively.

The series is being made for TNT, sister company to Warner Bros. Television, which has owned the original series since its purchase of Lorimar Productions (the original show's production company) in 1989. On July 8, 2011, after viewing the completed pilot episode, TNT gave a greenlight for the series with a 10-episode order, which will premiere in summer 2012.

CONTROVERSIAL reality series Big Brother is set for a relaunch.

CONTROVERSIAL reality series Big Brother is set for a relaunch.

A 2012 version of the one-time ratings smash hit is destined for Channel Nine, the Herald Sun reported.

Rival Channel Ten sought to bid on the reborn series, titled Big Brother: Secrets, but it is understood Nine signed the deal today.

"I understand we are doing it,” a Nine source confirmed.

Nine is certain to produce the show on a smaller scale than in the past.

It is believed that Nine is also determined to let viewers know it won’t be the same old Big Brother, which slipped into ratings decline in its eighth and final season on Ten.

The new show will be marketed as Big Brother: Secrets ... every housemate has a secret."

There is no word yet on the host of the re-booted Big Brother. Gretel Killeen hosted the first seven series of the show on Ten. Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O hosted Ten’s final series before it was cancelled in 2008.

NBC to Fete Betty White's 90th Birthday

NBC to Fete Betty White's 90th Birthday

Invitations are going out for NBC's 90th birthday celebration for beloved TV icon Betty White. The dinner-style event is expected to be filmed in Los Angeles before year's end and will air as a special sometime close to Betty's milestone on January 17, 2012.

Among the famous faces likely to offer on-camera tributes: stars from Betty's series, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Hot in Cleveland, as well as funny ladies from the NBC comedy lineup. Additionally, TV Land's Cleveland is planning an episode centered around the birthday of Betty's character, Elka Ostrovsky. The special is being executive produced by Brad Lachman, Steve Ridgeway and Jon Macks, whose credits include The Tonight Show, the Emmys and the Academy Awards.

NBC also has a reality series hosted by Betty, titled Off Their Rockers, which is awaiting an airdate. The series features senior citizens playing pranks on unsuspecting youngsters.

Retirement clearly is not a word in this active lady's vocabulary.

'Being Human' spices things up with ghost sex

'Being Human' spices things up with ghost sex

Forget "Twilight." Our favorite vampires and werewolves (and ghosts) are from "Being Human" on the Syfy channel. Season 1 was absolutely epic (and this is coming from fans of the BBC show) and Season 2 promises to be even more so.

The newest promo for the show is pretty hot. We've got vampire sex (and Sam Witwer shirtless ... cold shower anyone?), ghost sex and bloody werewolves in the woods. We've also got some fantastic lines. This show may be about dark things, but it's one of the funniest shows out there.

Are you guys excited for Season 2? Are you diehard BBC "Being Human" fans? Trust us here. You can love them both and not feel dirty in the morning. We promise. The new season of "Being Human" begins on Monday, January 16th on Syfy.

Season 2 Trailer:

Dexter: A Superhero's Absolution

Dexter: A Superhero's Absolution

Last week's announcement that Dexter has been renewed for Seasons 7 and 8 was widely celebrated by the series' massive fan base, as well as, presumably, Michael C. Hall's accountant. But for those of us who've had serious reservations about the quality of the current season, it begged the question: What exactly keeps us so hooked on this show? The stakes have never been so low: In its entire run so far, Dexter's only ever had one true game-changing moment (Rita's murder) and is more generally content to maintain the status quo regardless of how implausible its title character's existence has become. So what is it about Dexter that makes its lapses in quality so easy to overlook?

The easy answer: Serial killers are awesome. They're scary and fascinating and they actually exist. But Dexter's continued success perhaps owes less to our collective fascination with serial killers and much more to do with our collective adoration of superheroes. Dexter Morgan isn't just a serial killer; he's been molded into a being with a higher calling. He's smarter, stronger, and handsomer than the rest of us, he fights a rogue's gallery of over-the-top Big Bads, and he just generally uses his (admittedly twisted) powers to create a better society. These attributes are what make us love Dexter and root for him no matter where his Dark Passenger takes him. But when the writers forget to honor these things, that's when the series takes a nose dive.

'The IT Crowd' creator: 'There won't be a fifth series'

The IT Crowd's creator Graham Linehan has confirmed that the show will not be returning for a fifth series.

However, Linehan also revealed that he is planning a special, which will air on Channel 4 next year.

Young Apprentice 2011: Harry M causes a mutiny on his team!

Young Apprentice 2011: Harry M causes a mutiny on his team!

There’s a mutiny on the Young Apprentice 2011 tonight, as Harry M takes up the role as project manager for the first time. The 16-year-old has already been criticised for his team working skills in past tasks, but shows little improvement this evening.

The eight remaining candidates are summoned to Wembley Stadium where they are briefed on this week’s task; to create and design a new brand of deodorant targeted at the teen market before filming an advertisement and presenting the product to industry experts.

The teams are shuffled by Lord Sugar who then appoints Harry M is appointed PM on Kinetic with Zara appointed PM on Atomic.

In his first stint as Project Manager, Harry M is keen to assert his authority and immediately decides to target the female market. His teammates are taken aback by his refusal to consider their ideas but Harry M stands firm in his decision and says: “I think as Project Manager being decisive is an essential trait and to be decisive you need to be firm so that people respect you.”

But an infuriated James comments: “I don’t think anyone was happy to see Harry M as the Project Manager. He is extremely difficult to work with.”

As tensions between the group and Harry continue to rise, James decides to call a team meeting in the house and challenges his PM in no uncertain terms: “You have taken a back seat as Project Manager. You’ve lumped an awful lot on Lizzie and Gbemi!”

But refusing to be accosted Harry hits back: “I’m more than confident in what I have produced as Project Manager James and I think you’re actually being tactical. Leave your criticisms for the boardroom James. Park it up.”

Over on Atomic, a similar power-struggle emerges with Hayley feeling marginalised by PM and experienced director Zara who offers little room for maneuver in their advert for boy’s deodorant ‘RAW’.

In the editing suite Hayley is adamant that the product shot should be changed but Zara refutes: “At the end of the day it is just your opinion against mine.” Eager for her voice to be heard, Hayley fumes: “That doesn’t mean that you’re any higher than me or that your opinions are more valid!”

Tune in tonight to find out who will be next to hear Lord Sugar’s dreaded words: “You’re Fired!”

Simon Cowell donates £20,000 to Rhythmix charity after naming dispute

Simon Cowell donates £20,000 to Rhythmix charity after naming dispute

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has donated a reported £20,000 to the Rhythmix charity following their naming dispute with the show earlier this year. The charity lodged complaints with EU courts after Syco tried to trademark the term Rhythmix, the original name for group Little Mix.

The charity wrote an open letter to Simon Cowell asking for their legal costs to be paid, which has now been done.

In a statement, Syco said it had been “happy to make a donation to the charity”.

Rhtyhmix’s chief executive Mark Davyd told The Independent on Sunday about the news: “We are very pleased this has been brought to an amicable conclusion.

“These are difficult times for charities, and we are very pleased that we have been able to reach an agreement with SyCo to put this matter behind us.”

'Jersey Shore' Star Vinny Moves Back In

'Jersey Shore' Star Vinny Moves Back In

He's back!

'Jersey Shore' star Vinny Guadagnino has reportedly moved back into the MTV shore house after abruptly packing his bags and heading home to Staten Island last week.

According to TMZ, the reality star enjoyed dinner and drinks Saturday night at the shore with his former roommates, who banned together in an attempt to woo Guadagnino back into the house.

Though he had said he was done with 'The Jersey Shore' forever, Snooki & Co.'s plan apparently worked, because he is reportedly back on board with the MTV show.

The cast, who just returned from filming Season 4 in Italy, was put right to work on the fifth season back in New Jersey.

Guadagnino was reportedly not happy being bossed around by MTV execs, and threatened to leave -- complaining of "being homesick" and feeling "burned out."

"Seeing his family the other day made him get a little homesick," a source told Us Weekly. "[With] Vinny being the youngest of the bunch, it's a long time to be away from his family. He left and is home [in Staten Island]. I don't think he will be back."

But Guadagnino wasn't the only cast member apparently fed up with the show. Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino stirred up reports that he was headed home as well last week.

Production on Season 3 of 'The Listener' has begun

Production on Season 3 of  'The Listener' has begun

In association with CTV and Fox International Channels, today announced that production is underway on Season 3 of the original drama series “The Listener.” It was also announced that U.S. entertainment network ION Television has acquired the first two seasons of the series for broadcast in 2012 with the option for future seasons. Starring Craig Olejnik as mind-reading paramedic Toby Logan, ‘The Listener’ is broadcast on CTV and Bravo! in Canada, and internationally by Fox International Channels in 120 countries and 33 languages.

Season 3 of the 13 episode, one-hour series is currently shooting in and around Toronto until February 2012, with guest stars to include Kristin Lehman (“The Killing”), Rossif Sutherland (“I’m Yours”), Ian Tracey (“Hell on Wheels”), Canadian rapper, record producer and actor Wes Williams (“Cra$h & Burn”), JUNO Award-nominee Fefe Dobson, and more.

“’The Listener’s’ audience keeps growing season-over-season as strong characters mix an element of drama with comedic banter,” said Corrie Coe, Senior Vice-President, Independent Productions, Bell Media. “It’s great television of which we’re incredibly proud.”

“With its unique blend of drama, investigation, action and humour, ‘The Listener’ is an internationally successful franchise that offers a fresh take on the one-hour procedural,” said Christina Jennings, Chairman and CEO, Shaftesbury. “We’re looking forward to bringing new episodes of the series to Canadian and international viewers in partnership with CTV and Fox International Channels, and to introducing the series to new audiences in the U.S. with ION Television.”

Averaging 1.03 million viewers on CTV, ‘The Listener’ saw an impressive 13% growth among total viewers in Season 2. Following on the heels of Season 2's dramatic finale, Season 3 finds Toby (Olejnik) having apparently renounced the use of his paranormal gift and severing ties with Sgt. McCluskey, after the strain of using his abilities starts to take a toll on his health. But he is unexpectedly thrust back into the world of the IIB when he finds himself in the middle of a bank heist being pulled off by a desperate team of robbers (Rossif Sutherland, ‘I’m Yours’ and Ian Tracey, ‘Intelligence.’). It will take all of Toby's skills, both as a paramedic and a mind reader, to keep him and his fellow hostages alive.

Ricky Gervais vows more outrage at Golden Globes

Ricky Gervais vows more outrage at Golden Globes

Ricky Gervais says he wants to improve on his controversial performance at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards -- by being even more outrageous the next time around.
The British comedian said his third time hosting the annual Hollywood awards ceremony in January 2012 would definitely be his last.

But he is aiming to go out with a bang.

"They must be mad. Not sure if I'm flattered that they trust me or insulted that they trust me. Either way...they shouldn't trust me," Gervais said in a statement on Thursday.
The caustic creator of TV mockumentary "The Office" last year insulted Golden Globe organizers with jokes about bribes and took shots Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie's critically-panned movie "The Tourist" that was up for a Golden Globe nomination.
Many of the jokes in the televised broadcast fell flat with the gala audience of A-list stars. The president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the event, said afterward that Gervais would not return.

"I don't think anyone had the right to be offended but they were. This year I'm going to make sure their offense is completely justified," Gervais said on his blog on Thursday.
He asked fans to pass on their "favorite targets for the monologue."
After Golden Globe organizers announced he'd be back one day earlier, Gervais wasted little time in tweaking more ribs in Hollywood. He posted a Twitter message saying that he told Oscars host, comedian Billy Crystal: "He'd better not use any of my holocaust or pedophile material" at the Academy Awards ceremony in February 2012.

Gervais also gloated over being invited back again, saying it was a tough decision for him because "I was worried that I couldn't improve on last year."
"What actually tipped the balance and made me say yes, was the fact that it would shut up all those...idiots who said that I'd never be invited back," he wrote on his blog.
His hiring will be either a problem for celebrities and Golden Globe organizers or a stroke of genius for the NBC television network that airs the awards show if more people tune in just to see what Gervais says.

The timing also will be good publicity for the comedian's new TV venture, "Life's Too Short" which will make its U.S. debut on HBO in early 2012.
Gervais' new show is a documentary-style comedy about the life of a showbusiness dwarf, featuring 3 ft 6in (1.07 meter) actor Warwick Davis as a version of himself.
Johnny Depp also appears on the TV show in a cameo role as himself, sparring with Gervais over his money-making career and suggesting that, for at least one Hollywood star, all is forgiven.

X Factor: Kelly Rowland to replace Nicole Scherzinger on US show?

X Factor: Kelly Rowland to replace Nicole Scherzinger on US show?

It looks we could be waving goodbye to Kelly Rowland on The X Factor this side of the Atlantic at the end of the year, with Simon Cowell reportedly wanting the singer to replace Nicole Scherzinger on the US version of the show!

“Simon has been blown away by Kelly,” a source tells the Daily Star Sunday.

“He’s made no secret of the fact he thinks she’s the star of the UK show. Simon’s been less impressed with how Nicole is faring in the US.”

We wonder if this means we’ll be getting Cheryl Cole back?

But it sounds as though Kelly will be going out with a bang, reportedly planning a huge medley performance for the live results next month on December 4.

The tabloid reveals she’ll be singing new single Down For Whatever mixed with two of her other hits.

'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Secret Circle': A compelling Thursday night?

'The Vampire Diaries' and 'The Secret Circle': A compelling Thursday night?

The pairing makes perfect sense: Both shows, adapted from L.J. Smith novels, have teen heroines, and both come from Kevin Williamson, who loves twists and epic love stories equally. By scheduling them on the same night, the CW hopes those TVD fans who love a mythology-driven drama that moves will stick around for TSC. It worked in week 1: The Secret Circle retained nearly all of its Vampire Diaries lead-in. But what about next week? Are you in or are you out?

I’m in for The Secret Circle, largely because of Gale Harold (pictured). He plays Charles, the father of one of the teens who make up the secret circle of witches. I love that the show opened with him setting a fire that killed the mother of the main character, Cassie (Britt Robertson). He needed Cassie, now orphaned, to move to Chance Harbor, Wash. to live with her grandmother so she could meet the five classmates who’d tell her she’s a witch and completes their circle. They all lost at least one parent 16 years ago when something happened to their circle. What are Charles and Dawn (Natasha Henstridge), the high school principal who’s also a parent of a circle member, plotting? Williamson likes to introduce characters as one thing and have them evolve into something else. So Charles, while first appearing deliciously evil, can’t be all bad, can he?

Walking Dead Season 3

Walking Dead Season 3

This should no come as any surprise but AMC has just announced that Walking Dead Season 3 has been greenlit. AMC has said from the beginning that they would like to see 10 seasons of Walking Dead and considering the fact its a cash cow for them why wouldnt they? The second season so far has been much slower then the first season but it looks like we will start to move more into the action-portion of the series soon because of the events in the last episode.

Season two continues to deliver the strongest telecasts for any drama in basic cable history against Adults 18-49 shattering a basic cable record set nearly 10 years ago for a single drama telecast (“The Dead Zone”). “The Walking Dead” is based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics. Glen Mazzara serves as series’ showrunner. Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Frank Darabont are executive producers. Greg Nicotero is a co-executive producer.

“Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew ‘The Walking Dead’ for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s President. “We are thankful for everyone’s contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make ‘The Walking Dead’ a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world.”

FOX International Channels rolled-out its global launch for “The Walking Dead” this weekend, with premieres on FIC’s cable networks in Europe, Asia, Latin American, Africa and the Middle East. The series’ international premieres delivered equally impressive results in all major international TV markets, and broke pay-TV ratings’ records across the world. Over 10 million viewers in 122 countries tuned in live to watch the second season premiere of this highly anticipated returning drama.”

NBC shelves low-rated "Community" in third season

NBC shelves low-rated "Community" in third season

NBC's "Community" may be the most creative sitcom on television, but its refusal to resemble anything like a traditional sitcom hasn't helped its ratings. They've dropped so much in the current, third season -- the weirdest yet -- that NBC has pulled it from the midseason schedule.

The network says "Community" will return at some point, and the show's creator, Dan Harmon, declined to comment. But the show's increasing bizarreness has caused even some of its biggest fans to wonder if it has become too strange for its own good.

In its first two seasons, the show about a community college study group has aired paintball-themed episodes that played like a spaghetti Western, a Halloween show that mimicked a zombie-apocalypse movie, and an Emmy-winning Christmas episode in which all the characters were rendered in Claymation.

This season featured one episode that split into multiple different realities, and another in which one member of the group tried to out a sociopath in its ranks by getting everyone to tell horror stories.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune TV critic Neal Justin told TheWrap that "Community's" writers "do the most incredible things on a regular basis that I've ever seen from a sitcom." But after weeks of episodes that favor ambitious storytelling over traditional sitcom tropes, he said, "Maybe viewers just need a break."

Many viewers seem to be doing just that. Running in a tough Thursday 8 p.m. timeslot opposite one of most formidable situation comedies on TV, Chuck Lorre's "Big Bang Theory," "Community" has never been a big ratings earner.

The show averaged 5 million viewers its first season and 4.5 million last year, but is only hovering around 3.5 million for the 2011-12 campaign. For last Thursday's episode, "Community" scored only a 1.5 ratings/4 share in the key adults 18-49 demographic, compared to a 5.3/15 for "Big Bang Theory."

"Community"'s complex meanderings into such topics as astrophysics, however, have helped it become a key brand-distinguisher for NBC, labeling the network's Thursday-night lineup as a home to "smart" comedy.

They have also helped the series develop a loyal cult following similar that of Fox's "Arrested Development," which was canceled after three seasons.

The show's unusual approach reflects the outsider sensibility of Harmon, a former "Sarah Silverman Show" producer with little network sitcom work on his resume.

But Justin notes that the further Harmon and the writers get away from the sitcom norm, the more the show loses what little non-core audience it has.

"The relationships between the characters aren't really building at this point the way they were in the first season," Justin noted. "Does Chevy Chase really have a heart, or is he a bastard through and through. Typical sitcoms give you hints, but 'Community' kind of ditched that."

"Community" will lose its 8 p.m. timeslot in midseason to "30 Rock," another daring comedy that sometimes struggles for viewers. But the show has earned far more affection from Emmy voters.

If the end is near, don't expect the "Community" faithful to go down without a fight.

Wrote one commenter on a Vulture story about the show: "So I just need to know when we are going to start the mail campaign to save the show. Perhaps mailing NBC thousands of paintballs will get our point across?"

MTV to air one-hour Ryan Dunn tribute on November 28

MTV to air one-hour Ryan Dunn tribute on November 28

MTV will air a one-hour special November 28 remembering Ryan Dunn, the "Jackass" star who died in a drunk driving crash earlier this year that also killed his passenger.

The show, airing at 10:30 p.m., will follow his life from his early years growing up in Ohio to his joining the "Jackass" crew. It will include accounts from friends and "Jackass" compatriots including Johnny Knoxville, Rob Dyrdek, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Jeff Tremaine, Bam Margera and many more.

"It's a surreal thing to undertake, doing a tribute to our brother Ryan's life. I still can't believe he's gone but we wouldn't trust anyone else with this, so we are doing the best we can for Ryan, his family, friends, and everyone who loved him," Knoxville said in a statement.

MTV will also air never-before-seen footage from Dunn's work on MTV's "Viva LA Bam," and "Jackass."

The "Ryan Dunn Tribute Special" will be executive produced by Jeff Tremaine, Johnny Knoxville, Spike Jonze and Derek Freda.

Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell, 30, were killed in West Goshen, Pa., in June, when Dunn's Porsche 911 flew over a guard rail, hit a tree and burst into flames. Police later determined that Dunn's blood-alcohol content was twice the legal limit and that he was driving at speeds of 132 to 140 mph.

Series 3 of Misfits a let down?

Series 3 of Misfits a let down?

In my honest opinion series 3 of Misfits have been a let down, like most fans I really miss Nathan. Tho the ratings have been good, all over the internet fans have been complaining about the new super powers and the absence of Nathan.

What do you think?

'The Munsters' is getting a reboot at NBC

'The Munsters' is getting a reboot at NBC

Yes, we can already hear some of you howling. Another reboot? Yes, it's official. According to Deadline, NBC is going to reboot the 1960's comedy, "The Munsters."

If you don't recall, Grandpa Sam Dracula creates Herman Munster because no one is good enough for his vampire daughter Lily. Their young son Eddie is a werewolf and cousin Marilyn, a stunning beauty by ordinary standards, is considered to be a freak.

Well, vampires and werewolves are all the rage these days. If you're still groaning, we have some good news for you. "Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller is behind this one. At least we know it will be visually beautiful. Probably pretty quirky too. If you're not ready to revisit 1313 Mockingbird Lane, Fuller also has a show called "Hannibal," based on the Hannibal Lecter character.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Are you sick of reboots? Are you excited to see anything from Fuller? Who would you like to see cast? Let us know below.

'Game of Thrones': Get your first look at Season 2

Season 2 of "Game of Thrones" is about five months away, and on Sunday night (Nov. 20) HBO offered up a first look at what's coming in the spring.

What's coming, based on these two minutes of video, looks pretty intense -- which should not be a surprise to anyone who watched Season 1. The teaser offers glimpses of some of the new characters joining the story, including Natalie Dormer ("The Tudors") as Margaery Tyrell, the bride-to-be of Renly Baratheon (Gethin Anthony), along with returning stars Peter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Maisie Williams and others.

There are also a couple of gorgeous-looking shots of scenes from the coming season -- the fires burning on the beach at the 1:30 mark is a particular standout.

Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss also talk about the challenge of expanding the world of the show in Season 2, the new sets that had to be built and the new characters brought into the story. "Game of Thrones" will return in April.

Netflix Revives Arrested Development

Netflix Revives Arrested Development

Netflix has landed the rights to stream new episodes of Arrested Development, Variety reports.

In October, Arrested creator Mitch Hurwitz announced that the sitcom would return for one abbreviated season, focusing on what the characters have been doing since the show was canceled in 2006. Showtime was reportedly a contender as a new home for Arrested, but Netflix won the bidding war, which will see new episodes of the series on the streaming service in 2013.

"Arrested Development is one of the finest American comedies in TV history and its return through Netflix is a perfect example of how we are working closely with studios and networks to provide consumers with entertainment they love,'" said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.

In a joint statement, Hurwitz, Howard and Brian Grazer said of the deal: "Bringing a series back from cancellation almost never happens, but then, Arrested always was about as unconventional as they get, so it seems totally appropriate that this show that broke the mold is smashing it to pieces once again."

While it's unclear what this means for the possible movie that Hurwitz said would follow the return of Arrested, executive producer Ron Howard recently assured TVGuide.com that every cast member is interested in doing the show.

The show premiered in 2003, and was canceled after only three seasons despite its cult following.

Showtime Renews Dexter For Two More Seasons

Showtime Renews Dexter For Two More Seasons

Dexter has been renewed for two more seasons, Showtime announced on Friday. Star Michael C. Hall has also inked a deal to return.

"The series is bigger than it's ever been in its sixth season, both in terms of audience and its impact on the cultural landscape," Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement. "Together with Michael, the creative team on the show has a very clear sense of where they intend to take the show over the next two seasons."

The Emmy-nominated series, currently in its sixth season, is averaging 5.12 million weekly viewers with all platforms combined. Hall won the 2010 Screen Actors Guild award for his role as the moonlighting serial killer and was nominated for the Best
