'Battlestar Galactica' Cast Reunites in '17th Precinct' Pilot

What could have been … that's what "Battlestar Galactica" fans will be thinking as they get the chance to view the pilot for "17th Precinct," the supernatural cop drama created by "BSG" producer Ronald Moore.

NBC passed on "Precinct" last May, but the pilot episode has leaked online at Vimeo.com. The cop series -- starring "Battlestar Galactica" alums Jamie Bamber, Tricia Helfer and James Callis -- is set in Excelsior, a supernatural world where magic is commonplace.

'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Star Kim Richards Checks Out of Rehab

'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Star Kim Richards Checks Out of Rehab

The Bravo reality housewife and former Disney actress has left a treatment facility, according to reports.

A source with knowledge of Kim Richards' situation tells THR that "she has not left treatment." No further information was provided. Meanwhile, People magazine has clarified its initial report that Richards had checked out of rehab to say that she remains in an inpatient facility, and was visited by her daughter, her sister Kyle Richards and Kyle's three daughters.

Weeks after checking herself into rehab, Kim Richards -- cast member on Bravo's The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and ex-Disney actress -- has left an inpatient treatment program, People magazine reports.

According to media outlets, Richards entered rehab earlier this month following months of erratic behavior that was caught on camera during the first and second seasons of the reality show. She previously sought treatment after the series' October 2010 debut.

"She's doing okay," a source was quoted as telling People. "The plan is for her to continue with outpatient therapy. Everyone is hoping for the best."

This season on Bravo's Beverly Hills edition, Richards was shown telling Dr. Paul Nassif, the plastic surgeon-husband of fellow housewife Adrienne Maloof, that she had been taking a mixture of anti-anxiety and anti-depression medication. In other dramatic footage, Richards and her co-star and sister, Kyle Richards, got into a heated argument with new castmate Brandi Glanville wherein Glanville accused the single mother of being on drugs.

'Beverly Hillbillies' Star and Mattel Settle Lawsuit Over 'Elly May' Barbie

'Beverly Hillbillies' Star and Mattel Settle Lawsuit Over 'Elly May' Barbie

Former sitcom star Donna Douglas, now 78, was unhappy over her resemblance to the buxom backwoods doll.

Actress Donna Douglas has settled her legal dispute with toymaker Mattel over a Barbie doll named based off of her Beverly Hillbillies character, Elly May Clampett.

Reuters reports that the consumer product division of CBS Corp. had licensed the rights for Mattel to replicate Elly May, something it argued it had exclusive rights to do. Douglas, now 78, had sued both companies claiming they were "engaging in the unauthorized use" of her name and likeness to sell the product.

She sought a minimum of $75,000 in damages. Neither her attorney or Mattel would comment on the details or figure, but documents filed in Louisiana on Tuesday indicate that it had been settled.

Douglas played the beautifully dim Elly May on the CBS television series from 1962 to 1971. The fish-out-of-water tale about Appalachian family that struck oil and moved to a Los Angeles mansion was later adapted for a 1993 film of the same name.

Former Kardashian Nanny Pitching Tell-All Memoir

Former Kardashian Nanny Pitching Tell-All Memoir

The proposed book promises "intimate details" of life in the Kardashian-Jenner family.

A former Kardashian nanny is said to be prepping a tell-all book about the family.

TMZ reports that Pam Behan who worked as a nanny, personal assistant, and cook for Bruce Jenner, his wife Kris, and their children is shopping a proposal to book agents as the first step to landing a publishing deal.

Sources say Behan's proposal paints a negative  picture of Bruce's sons Brandon and Brody Jenner, calling them "spoiled and disrespectful." She also dangles the possibility of "intimate details" about the childhood of Kourtney and Kim Kardashian, Bruce’s stepdaughters.

Behan allegedly calls her relationship with the girls' mother Kris Jenner a "love/hate" affair. From the details leaked, Bruce is the one member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan who comes off in a positive light.

TMZ reports that Behan has approached several major literary agents about representing her but that none appear to have signed her as client yet.

A rep for the Kardashians and the Jenners said the family had no comment.

George R.R. Martin Posts 6,100-Word Excerpt From New Book

George R.R. Martin Posts 6,100-Word Excerpt From New Book

Fans of novelist George R. R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy series are melting. The "Game of Thrones" author just released a previously unpublished sample chapter from the upcoming sixth installment, "The Winds of Winter," on his Website.

At 6,100 words in length, the excerpt is substantial.

"The chronology, as usual, is tricky," Martin said on his LiveJournal page. "This chapter will be found eventually at the beginning of 'Winds,' but as you will be able to tell from context, it actually takes place before some of the chapters at the end of ['A Dance with Dragons,' the fifth installment in the series.]"

Martin also said another "Winds of Winter" sample chapter will be included in the paperback edition of "A Dance with Dragons," which is due in July. "A Dance With Dragons" was released in July 2011, 15 years after the first volume -- "A Game of Thrones" -- came out.

In an interview published in October, Martin said he had written 100 pages of "Winds," which will be published by Bantam Books. A release date has not been set for that book or its successor, "A Dream of Spring," which Martin plans to be the final installment in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.

In the meantime, Martin fans will bide their time with the second season of HBO's series adaptation "A Game of Thrones," which starts in April.

BBC Faces Sexism Accusations After Female Panda Makes Top 12 Female Faces of the Year List

BBC Faces Sexism Accusations After Female Panda Makes Top 12 Female Faces of the Year List

The British media and beyond is atwitter with the news that the BBC has become embroiled in controversy after having named a panda as one of its 12 female faces of the year.

Selected by the BBC’s online Magazine, the inclusion of Tian Tian, also known as Sweetie -- the bear that arrived at Edinburgh Zoo this month from China -- has attracted controversy, sparking a sexism row for the Corporation.

The BBC finds itself at the heart of sexism accusations for the second time in as many weeks after the pubcaster was criticized for choosing its annual BBC Sports Personality of the Year from an entirely male shortlist.

But the decision to include the face of Tian Tian as part of its list of 12 female faces of the year has set Twitter alight.

Former deputy prime minister John Prescott tweeted: “So the BBC couldn't find a woman for Sports Personality of the Year, but they could find a panda for a female face of 2011."

Labour MP Stella Creasy added: "No offence to Sweetie -- sure a lovely panda and best in the class etc -- but clue is in the title 'women' not 'female of the species' of the year."

While the men of the year list included luminaries such as Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth, prospective Republic presidential nominee Herman Cain, and News of the World journalist Paul McMullan for his whistleblowing role in the phone-hacking scandal, it did not include the male panda brought to Edinburgh with Tian Tian.

The BBC online list has also been criticized because a quarter of the female faces this year were chosen for their involvement in marriages.

Prince William's new sister-in-law Pippa Middleton; South African Charlene Wittstock, who married Prince Albert of Monaco; and Spanish billionaire the Duchess of Alba, 85, who tied the knot with a civil servant 24 years her junior; made the list.

The selection was made by BBC editors.

The BBC took the time to point out it is not the first time an animal had appeared in its Faces of the Year lists.

"Including Sweetie (Tian Tian) as one of the annual headline makers was a light-hearted addition to the list, and this isn't the first time it has featured a non-human," the BBC said in a statement.

In 2009, Benson the Carp, a much-caught giant fish, was August's entry on the male list and last year Peppa the Pig was on the female list for April.

The controversy is being dubbed Pandagate by internet wags.

Fringe Winter Premiere Sneak Peek: He's Baaack!

Fringe Winter Premiere Sneak Peek: He's Baaack!

Friday the 13th of January is a lucky day for Fringe fans, because that’s when the Fox drama resumes its fourth season, following a too-long holiday break — and we’ve got some photos from that first episode back, including a peek at a returning ne’er-do-well.

As revealed in the official synopsis for “Back To Where You’ve Never Been” (which was designed as a cliffhanger-y fall finale capped by a most ominous encore, but got pushed back by the World Series), “In an effort to find a way home, Peter journeys to the Other Side to confront Walternate, and his venture proves more dangerous than expected. Meanwhile, Olivia receives a dire premonition from an Observer.”

So yes, this will mark Season 4′s first appearance by Walter’s nefarious counterpart, and it could be interesting to see what he has been up to in this tweaked timeline. As Fringe EP Jeff Pinker said during the fall, “Walternate, despite all promises to the contrary, is still a bad guy manipulating things behind the scenes.”

Horror Story Season 2 Scoop, Guiding Light Exhumed on DVD and More!

Horror Story Season 2 Scoop, Guiding Light Exhumed on DVD and More!

American Horror Story‘s inaugural season has come and gone, but an unsolved mystery lingers.

Elaborating on a hint he dropped to reporters last week, AHS boss Ryan Murphy says a major clue regarding where Season 2 will take place and who might take part can be found in the penultimate Season 1 episode titled ”Birth.”

“Go through it frame by frame,” Murphy challenged fans in an interview with EW.com. “I planted it in there.”

Thankfully, the folks over at TheInsider.com did just that and came away with five possible Season 2 settings, including Florida (where Vivien’s sister resides) and London (where Vivien’s doctor is located).

Meanwhile, if you missed Horror Story‘s finale the first time around, TVLine has learned that FX will air an encore on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 4 am.

Ready for more of today’s TV dish? Well…

• Guiding Light fans, rejoice! WeLoveSoaps.com reports that a “Classics” DVD set will hit shelves in mid-January, featuring 20 memorable episodes from the late sudser.

• A slew of celebs are coming on down to The Price Is Right to battle it out for a good cause. Beginning Monday, Jan. 2, Snoop Dogg, Jenny McCarthy, Neil Patrick Harris, Chris Daughtry and Heidi Klum will compete for charity on CBS’ long-running game show.

'Glee' Michael Jackson tribute: Listen to Dianna Agron's 'Never Can Say Goodbye'

"Glee" songs have a way of leaking online before they officially air on the show, so it's no surprise some of the covers from the FOX hit's upcoming Michael Jackson tribute episode have started trickling out.

Up first? Dianna Agron's ultra-pleasant take on the Jackson 5's "Never Can Say Goodbye."

Agron always sounds best on the retro tunes -- remember her lovely "I Say a Little Prayer" during Season 1? We dig the sweet tone of her voice, so this Jackson 5 track was a fantastic pick for her.

'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood wants to quit the show

'Teen Mom' star Amber Portwood wants to quit the show

According to "Teen Mom" star Amber Portwood, she could be leaving the MTV reality series that made her famous -- and subsequently caused her a lot of legal problems.

In a court hearing on Thursday following her arrest for probation violation, the 21-year-old told the judge that "I want to quit, and I will," referring to the MTV series that has documented her life since before the birth of her daughter, Leah, in 2008.

Portwood feels exploited by the cameras, Huffington Post TV reports, and her lawyer, Evan Broderick, says she wants to live her life without it being documented on television.

The Indiana judge ruled that Portwood will have to stay in jail until her next hearing on Jan. 27 because she has not been following the terms of her probation. She was required to submit to drug tests, anger management classes, finish her GED and start an education fund for her daughter. She was also charged with a Class D felony for possessing pills she couldn't provide prescriptions for at the time of her arrest on Monday.

Portwood's first arrest came after she assaulted her on-and-off fiance, Gary Shirley, on camera during filming for "Teen Mom." We can't imagine having a camera in your face at all times helps with rational decision-making, so perhaps taking a break from TV would be in Portwood and her family's best interest. (Though we'd still take her over any of the "Teen Mom 2" stars any day.)
