Louis CK to create CBS sitcom about group of creative young people

Louis CK to create CBS sitcom about group of creative young people

Louis CK and writer Spike Feresten are to create a new sitcom for television network CBS.

The sitcom revolves around a group of creative people in their 20s who are trying to achieve their dreams despite a troubled economy, reports New York Magazine.

CBS has already ordered a pilot for the untitled sitcom, written and produced by Louis CK and Feresten.

The comic duo worked together as writers for the Late Show with David Letterman in the 1990s.

Louis CK stars in his own comedy series on cable station FX titled Louie, which received two Emmy nominations including 'Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series'.

He admitted that he did not expect Louie to be nominated at the Emmys.

Feresten wrote for Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons and Seinfeld.

Barack Obama wanted for 'American Idol' performance

Barack Obama wanted for 'American Idol' performance

Barack Obama has been approached to appear on American Idol to perform a duet with Al Green.

Earlier this month, the US President surprised many when he sang a few lines of Green's classic 'Let's Stay Together', which has also become the official song for his re-election campaign.

American Idol producer Nigel Lythgoe directly tweeted Obama, saying: "We loved your vocal performance so much we'd love to invite you on to American Idol this season for a duet with Al Green."

The American Idol judges have previously given their reactions to Obama's singing abilities, with Steven Tyler describing him as "very soulful".

Madonna will debut the video for her new single 'Gimme All Your Luvin'' on American Idol on February 2.

'Being Human' creator: 'Loss of Mitchell is least of our problems'

'Being Human' creator: 'Loss of Mitchell is least of our problems'

Being Human creator Toby Whithouse has played down actor Aidan Turner's exit.

Vampire John Mitchell, one of the central characters in the supernatural drama, died in the third series finale last year.

Despite not planning to kill off Mitchell, Whithouse told SFX: "Losing Mitchell is the least of our problems, to be honest! I think that you just attack the new stories and the new characters with a lot of confidence.

"Much as we loved and adored and respected Aidan, there comes a point where you just do forget he was in it, because actually what you're seeing on screen in series four is so fantastic."

Werewolf George Sands will be written out of the show this year, after Russell Tovey announced his decision to quit the role in November. Sinead Keenan also recently quit her role as Nina.

BBC Three's fourth run of Being Human will begin on Sunday, February 5 at 9pm.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Denise Welch: 'I regret flashing boobs'

Celebrity Big Brother winner Denise Welch: 'I regret flashing boobs'

Denise Welch has admitted that she rues her decision to flash her breasts in the Big Brother house.

Returning to Loose Women this afternoon, the Celebrity Big Brother 2012 winner insisted, however, that her children were not embarrassed by her hot tub topless antics.

That wasn't my best moment, I have to say. But I just don't think the nation should be deprived of my natural assets," she said.

The 53-year-old actress added that she "probably wouldn't" have behaved similarly if she had her time on the show again.

Welch added: "To be honest, both my children said, 'Mummy, we'd have been more bothered if you'd been horrible to someone in there'."

Meanwhile, responding to allegations that she has recently cheated on husband Tim Healy, Welch simply said: "Everything's fine at home."

Paula Abdul Won’t Return To ‘X Factor’

Paula Abdul Won’t Return To ‘X Factor’

Today at The X Factor was a bloodbath which just claimed its biggest name.

Not only was host Steve Jones let go and judge Nicole Scherzinger exited from the Fox show, but now a Simon Cowell insider just told me that his longtime friend and American Idol colleague Paula Abdul won’t be returning as an X Factor judge next season.

I understand from sources that none of the three left on their own accord and that it was cleaning house day at the so-so rated show.

Frankie Boyle show 'Tramadol Nights' axed by Channel 4?

Frankie Boyle show 'Tramadol Nights' axed by Channel 4?

Frankie Boyle's controversial show Tramadol Nights has reportedly been dropped by Channel 4.

The series attracted complaints from viewers and was publicly criticised by Katie Price for making a joke about her disabled son Harvey when it aired in 2010.

Price's complaints about the show were also upheld by Ofcom, who agreed that the material in the show could be considered "highly offensive".

Tramadol Nights has now been dropped by Channel 4, according to the Daily Mail.

Boyle allegedly said: "I was really happy with it, but you can see why they didn't want to recommission something that was getting them front page hatred, and I was a bit relieved.

"A six-week panel show takes six weeks to make. Because I was involved from storyboard to editing, Tramadol took over six months, and loads of that was late nights and six-day weeks."

The reports have also claimed that Boyle's planned chatshow, Frankie Boyle's Rehabilitation Programme, will not be made into a series after a pilot was filmed last year.

A Channel 4 spokesperson allegedly described Tramadol Nights as a "one-off" and confirmed that no more episodes will be made, adding that there are no plans to turn Rehabilitation Programme's "non-transmittable pilot" into a series.

'The Body Farm': BBC axes 'Waking the Dead' spinoff after one series

'The Body Farm': BBC axes 'Waking the Dead' spinoff after one series

The BBC has confirmed that crime drama The Body Farm will not return for a second series.

The Waking the Dead spinoff starred Tara Fitzgerald as Dr Eve Lockhart and Keith Allen as her ally DI Craig Hale.

The first series ran from September 13 to October 18 last year, but no further episodes will be produced, according to the Radio Times.

While the series premiere attracted an audience of 6.3m, viewing figures had dropped to 4.3m by the sixth and final episode.

Parent series Waking the Dead - starring Trevor Eve and Sue Johnston - drew to a close in April 2011 after nine series.

At the time, Johnston, who played Dr Grace Foley, said that she felt "robbed" by the BBC's decision.

"I'm very sad about it," she admitted in March. "It was a lovely job. The show gets great audiences, it's sold all over the world and I don't quite get why it's going."

The Body Farm was made by BBC Drama Production in association with Eve's company, Projector Productions.

Frankie Cocozza, Kirk Norcross: 'We'll be Hugh Hefners of Essex'

Frankie Cocozza, Kirk Norcross: 'We'll be Hugh Hefners of Essex'

Frankie Cocozza has claimed that he is hoping to become the Hugh Hefner of Essex when he moves into a shared house with The Only Way Is Essex's Kirk Norcross.

The reality TV star, who finished runner-up on last weekend's Celebrity Big Brother, said that he is already making living arrangements with new friend Norcross.

"I'm moving into Kirk's place," Cocozza told the Daily Star.

"We'll turn it into our own Playboy Mansion. We'll be the Hugh Hefners of Essex, it'll be a sh*gfest."

The X Factor reject admitted that life in the Big Brother house had left him sexually frustrated, confessing that he would have "done all the girls" if he'd been given the opportunity.

Cocozza also revealed plans for a trip to the US, commenting: "I am definitely going to America. I have no idea what I'll do out there. Just live there, sing in a bar all day long and sh*g the birds."

Britain's Got Talent Simon Cowell tells Stephen Mulhern to get surgery

Britain's Got Talent Simon Cowell tells Stephen Mulhern to get surgery

Simon Cowell has told Britain's Got More Talent presenter Stephen Mulhern to have cosmetic surgery, Digital Spy can reveal.

Cowell made the suggestion during filming backstage for the ITV2 series, advising Mulhern that he needed work done on his hair, nose and face.

An insider show source said: "Simon [Cowell] told [Stephen] that he needs improvement. He said that he needs a hair transplant, a nose job and some work on his chin - perhaps he's trying to mould him into a mini me?"

Mulhern's "worst ever day filming" on Britain's Got More Talent was rounded off by a trip to hospital to treat a mystery illness.

"Filming on More Talent was halted for three hours as Stephen had to be rushed to an emergency doctor as his throat swelled and he lost his voice," the source told Digital Spy.

"He returned to filming after doctors were able to treat his mysterious and sudden illness with antibiotics."

Britain's Got Talent's Cardiff auditions were filmed at the weekend with judges Cowell, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon. The auditions continue on February 6 at London's Apollo, before heading to Edinburgh and Birmingham.

Directors David Nutter, Davis Guggenheim, Brian Kirk And Jason Ensler Set For Pilots

Directors David Nutter, Davis Guggenheim, Brian Kirk And Jason Ensler Set For Pilots

Several more directors have closed deals to helm broadcast pilots this season. David Nutter is now set to direct produce the CW Arrow, described as a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow. The project, from Berlanti Prods and Warner Bros TV, was written by Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim based on a story by Greg Berlanti and Guggenheim. The three are credited as writers on the pilot and will executive produce with Nutter. This marks Nutter’s return to the superhero genre — he directed the pilot for the long-running WB/CW series Smallville. He also helmed the pilot for Smallville‘s companion, veteran CW sci-fi drama Supernatural. WME-repped Nutter previously teamed with Berlanti on Berlanti’s WB drama series Jack & Bobby, whose pilot was directed by Nutter.

Oscar-winning documentary-maker Davis Guggenheim has been tapped to direct CBS’ drama pilot Widow Detective, written by David Hubbard and produced by CSI maven Carol Mendelsohn. The project, from CBS TV Studios and Mendelsohn’s studio-based production company, centers on a decorated police detective who, after losing three partners in the line of duty, becomes surrogate husband, lover and father to their families. All 4 pilots Guggenheim has directed so far have gone to series, including 2 at CBS, The Unit and The Defenders. His most recent music documentary, From The Sky Down, about the creation of U2′s acclaimed 1991 album Achtung Baby, was acquired by Showtime.

Brian Kirk (Game Of Thrones) will direct ABC’s Gilded Lillys, a period drama written/executive produced by The Nine co-creator KJ Steinberg and executive produced by Shonda Rhimes. Set in 1895 New York City, Gilded Lillys is described as an epic love story that follows the opening of the first luxury hotel in the city and the intermingling of love, treachery and disdain between the classes. The project hails from ABC Studios and Rhimes’ studio-based Shondaland.

Jason Ensler will direct the CW’s Cult, a mystery drama from veteran sci-fi writer producer Rockne S. O’Bannon produced by Gossip Girl co-creators Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. Cult was first developed during the CW’s maiden pilot season, centers on an inquisitive, young female production assistant on a wildly popular television show called Cult who, after a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, joins a journalist blogger in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life. This marks Ensler’s return to the CW where he directed the pilot for Hart Of Dixie last year.

John Stamos Circling Fox Comedy Pilot ‘Little Brother’

John Stamos Circling Fox Comedy Pilot ‘Little Brother’

John Stamos is in preliminary talks to star in the Fox comedy pilot Little Brother. I hear Stamos’ decision hinges largely on a rewrite, which is now being done by the project’s scribe, Everybody Loves Raymond alum Mike Royce.

The project was originally ordered as an off-cycle pilot in September.

It cast actor-comedian T.J. Miller (ABC’s Carpoolers) as one of the two leads in November but had been having difficulties finding the right actor for the other lead. The single-camera comedy, from 20th TV, 21 Laps/Adelstein Prods. and Hat Trick, is about a man, the role Stamos is eyed for, who finds out that he has a half-brother (Miller) he never knew about who also happens to be an ex-con.

The project has a long history. It was originally written by British scribe Fintan Ryan and rolled by Fox for the past 2 seasons until Royce was brought in in September to write a new script, which quickly netted a cast-contingent pilot order. The pilot already has an A-list director attached, 21 Laps/Adelstein principal Shawn Levy, should Stamos agree to do it. Stamos, who is being sought after for multiple pilots this season, is generating buzz with his upcoming commercial for Dannon Yogurt’s Oikos brand, which will premiere during the Super Bowl on Sunday.

‘Arrested Development’ Writer: Original Cast Is Back, And “There Are Offices And Parking Spaces”

‘Arrested Development’ Writer: Original Cast Is Back, And “There Are Offices And Parking Spaces”

The revival of the Emmy-winning sitcom Arrested Development has taken another big step: According to series writer and co-exec producer Dean Lorey, the entire original cast is returning.

Lorey via his blog also wrote that he, Mitch Hurwitz and Jim Vallely are penning a new season to premiere next year, and that shooting begins in 2012, with “offices and parking spaces” already set up. The cast — Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Michael Cera, Tony Hale, Jeffrey Tambor, David Cross, Alia Shawkat and Jessica Walter – all expressed interest in reprising their roles and supported the idea during a panel back in October.

But two months after Netflix picked up rights to the series, there are still no formal deals between castmembers and series producer 20th Century Fox TV.

Lorey on his blog apologized that “even the schedule is being kept under wraps,” so he didn’t dish any more information on the series.

The exact number of episodes has not been determined, though Hurwitz at one point indicated the idea was to do a limited 9-10 episode series that would serve as a bridge between the original series and a long-gestating feature film.

Justin Bieber to Host 'Saturday Night Live,' Says Alec Baldwin

Justin Bieber to Host 'Saturday Night Live,' Says Alec Baldwin

The "30 Rock" actor let the news slip during a podcast interview with Lorne Michaels, though NBC has yet to confirm.

Alec Baldwin just did something that would certainly anger his 30 Rock character, NBC exec Jack Donaghy: He leaked official network intel. On today's episode of Baldwin's "Here's The Thing" podcast on WNYC, the 30 Rock actor delves in deep with Saturday Night Live executive producer Lorne Michaels, and in the process, reveals that Justin Bieber will host SNL in the upcoming months.

Setting the scene at Michaels' office, Baldwin reads off some of the names that appear on a board of confirmed SNL hosts this season. Among them is the Biebs, who previously served as the musical guest in April 2010 (and popped by for a Church Lady skit and a digital short last February) but has never hosted the show. Michaels confirms Baldwin's announcement with a yes, 26 minutes into the podcast.

Baldwin innocently notes: "The biggest names in the business are coming here thirty-something years [after SNL's debut] to host the show. Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy, [who] won the Emmy award, and Katy Perry's coming and Jimmy Fallon, who's double-dipping on your payroll, Jonah Hill, and I don't want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber's confirmed, he's the music and the [host]."

If this is true (NBC has not yet confirmed), Bieber will follow in the footsteps of fellow pop star host Katy Perry, who took the comedy reigns this past December. Bieber showed off his acting chops (if you want to call them that) with a minor guest spot on CSI on the 2010-2011 season.

Next up on the SNL slate is host Zooey Deschanel with musical guest Bon Iver on Feb. 4, followed by Channing Tatum with musical guests Karmin on Feb. 11.

'Spartacus: Vengeance' Premiere Tops 'Arena' Prequel, Delivers Starz Sampling Record

'Spartacus: Vengeance' Premiere Tops 'Arena' Prequel, Delivers Starz Sampling Record

With actor Liam McIntyre stepping into the titular sandals, the drama sees a 10 percent ratings boost in its most recent iteration.

Spartacus did not suffer from its recent recasting.

Vengeance, the follow-up to Blood and Sand and prequel God of the Arena, delivered nearly 1.4 million viewers during its premiere broadcast on Friday night. Adding 677,000 from the ensuing encore at 11:00 p.m., the series brought in 2.1 million viewers for the night.

That total tops the cumulative 1.9 million Friday debut debut of Arena, a prequel designed to keep the series running without late star Andy Whitfield, by 10 percent. Comparing it to the original Blood And Sand, the combined broadcasts mark a 90 percent jump from the franchise's original debut.

Friday's Spartacus: Vengeance premiere was the first episode with Liam McIntyre taking on the role of Spartacus. Whitfield, who died of lymphoma in September, starred in the original series and had intended to rejoin after Gods of the Arena before he was benched by cancer treatment.

Adding to the success of Vengeance, Starz cites a growth in online and on-demand sampling. A reported record of 1.4 million views of the episode through the weekend put the preliminary total (before Sunday encores) past 4 million viewers.

Regardless of any additional views, the numbers are a triumph for the network. Kelsey Grammer's Golden Globe winning series Boss, a critical success, debuted in October to 1.72 million on its premiere night after Starz had already decided to renew it.

'Got to Dance': Prodijig, Tayluer & Elliot win first semi-final

'Got to Dance': Prodijig, Tayluer & Elliot win first semi-final

Prodijig and Tayluer & Elliot triumphed on the first Got to Dance semi-final last night (January 30).

Irish dancers Prodijig and duo Tayluer and Elliot were branded "phenomenal" and "mind blowing" by judges Adam Garcia, Kimberly Wyatt and Ashley Banjo after their live performances.

Wyatt told Prodijig: "Wow, you can do it all. You dance like champions. It's just brilliant!"

Garcia added: "In your audition I said you were mind blowing. Tonight, I was so trying to pick something apart from your performance. You know what, I can't. There can be no argument. Amazing."

Banjo told Tayluer and Elliot: "For 8 and 10 years old, you take a song that's so emotionally past your years and you make it your own, you own it. As dancers, you just get it. Phenomenal."

Garcia commented on the young pair of friends from Liverpool: "You've just proved how difficult the semi-final is because you tick every box. I just need to emphasise that what you do in your dance technically, most teenagers can't do it yet. I think you're going to be really difficult to beat."

Project G, Sam Hall, Bendy Kate and Chuck were knocked out of the Davina McCall-hosted dance reality show.

The finalists will perform in front of 6,000 people at London's Olympia on March 4.

Got to Dance continues on Sunday nights at 6pm on Sky1.

Michael Madsen: 'Denise Welch sex offer made me sick to stomach'

Michael Madsen: 'Denise Welch sex offer made me sick to stomach'

Michael Madsen has accused Denise Welch of making sexual advances to him in Celebrity Big Brother.

The Reservoir Dogs actor, who had an ongoing spat with Welch during their time on the Channel 5 reality show, claimed that Welch's behaviour in the house made him "sick to the stomach".

"She offered to sleep with me a number of times - she just kept trying," Madsen told the Daily Star Sunday.

"I couldn't understand why she was pressing me to do that. But she was deadly serious. I know quite a bit about women and I know when a girl is being serious - and she definitely wanted it to happen. It made me sick to my stomach - the idea repulsed me. If I was stranded on a desert island I would rather f**k a coconut tree."

Madsen also responded to Welch's husband Tim Healy's threats to "sort him out", arguing that the British actor was probably "pretty embarrassed" by his partner's behaviour on the show.

"I feel sorry for her husband. I heard he wants to 'sort me out'. Well here I am," said Madsen. "But if he wants to sort something out perhaps he should have a chat with his wife."

Amy Childs 'begging' for 'Dancing on Ice' role

Amy Childs 'begging' for 'Dancing on Ice' role

Amy Childs has reportedly 'begged' to compete in next year's series of Dancing on Ice.

The former Only Way Is Essex star, whose solo reality show It's All About Amy has been axed by Channel 5, was told by producers that the 2013 run has yet to be discussed.

"Amy was openly chatting up producers in the hope of taking part in next year's show," a source told The Sun.

"Obviously they were flattered that she wants to appear. But it is far too early to be deciding anything like that - we haven't even finished this series yet."

Childs recently said she would back plans by her cousin Harry Derbidge to create a rival show to The Only Way Is Essex.

She has also been linked to a role in Channel 5 dating series The Bachelorette and is confirmed to appear with Derbidge on Let's Dance For Sport Relief in March.

Childs this month described leaving TOWIE as "the best thing [she'd] ever done".

WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange to Play Himself on 'The Simpsons'

WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange to Play Himself on 'The Simpsons'

WikiLeaks Founder Julian Assange is turning yellow.

The activist/journalist -- lauded by some and reviled by others for his leaking of classified government information -- will make a cameo on the upcoming 500th episode of "The Simpsons."

During the episode -- which airs Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. and is titled "At Long Last Leave" -- Homer, Marge and their lemon-hued brood are run out of Springfield and join an off-the-grid community outside of town, where they find themselves as new neighbors to Assange.

"Simpsons" executive producer Al Jean told Entertainment Weekly that Assange recorded his part from an undisclosed location last summer, while under house arrest in Britain.

"I was just given a number to call," Jean said.

Jean added that Assange will become "sort of their new Flanders," although with a considerably different twist: "He invites them over for a home movie and it's an Afghan wedding being bombed."

For a guy who's been under house arrest for more than a year, Assange is certainly getting around -- the WikiLeaks honcho will also host an as-yet-untitled talk show, which is set to premiere in mid-March, on which Assange will engage in "in-depth conversations with key political players, thinkers and revolutionaries from around the world."

Steve Jones Out as 'X Factor' Host

Steve Jones Out as 'X Factor' Host

Forget "The X Factor" -- Steve Jones is now experiencing the "ex-factor." As in, he's now the ex-host of the show.

Welsh television presenter Jones -- who hosted the Fox singing competition during his its first season -- broke the news on his Twitter account Monday.

"I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I've had a great time," Jones wrote. "Good luck to everyone on the show."

Fox confirmed Jones' departure to TheWrap, but did not provide any information about a possible replacement for Jones.

Rumbling about Jones' departure began to emerge in December, when British newspaper the Daily Mirror reported that there were plans to reconfigure the show without Jones. At the time, Jones' publicist dismissed the report.

USA Picks Up Greg Berlanti's 'Political Animals'

The USA Network is heeding its "Animal" instincts and giving the go-ahead to the latest project from "Brothers & Sisters" executive producer Greg Berlanti.

The network has picked up the six-hour drama series "Political Animals." Produced by Berlanti and Laurence Mark, the series will take "a bold and significant look at a fictional first family in turmoil," according to USA.

"Political Animals" will center around divorced former First Lady Elaine Barrish, who's currently serving as the Secretary of State and finds an unlikely ally in a D.C. journalist who had previously dedicated herself to tearing Barrish to pieces.

"The provocative drama series will tap into the behind-the-scenes dynamics of a high-profile political dynasty, the dark -- yet real -- human side of life, and the often-disastrous effects
of political ambition," the network said.

"Political Animals" is slated to launch in summer 2012. Berlanti wrote the pilot, and will also direct and serve as an executive producer, along with Mark. Berlanti Productions and Laurence Mark Productions are producing in association with Warner Horizon Television, with Melissa Kellner Berman of Berlanti Productions serving as co-executive producer.

The series joins several other recently announced USA projects, including the reality series "The Moment," starring NFL star Kurt Warner, and the Nathan Lane comedy pilot "Local Talent."

Berlanti also recently sold a pilot based on the comic-book character Green Arrow to the CW. Titled "Arrow," the pilot promises a "modern retelling" of the comic-book legend.

Shirley MacLaine will join the cast of Downton Abbey

The veteran actress has signed on for a starring role in the hit historical drama for its upcoming third series, Carnival Films, which co-produces the show, said Monday. MacLaine will play the newly created character Martha Levinson, the mother of Lady Grantham.

Gareth Neame, managing editor for Carnival Films, promised that the Levinson character will be "a wonderful combatant for Maggie Smith’s Dowager Countess," adding, "we are excited at the prospect of Shirley MacLaine playing her."

"Downton Abbey," which airs on ITV in the U.K. and on PBS' "Masterpiece" in the United States, has shown growth on both sides of the pond, growing its audience by 20 percent in the U.K. and by 30 percent in the U.S. with its second series.

In addition to her upcoming role in "Downton Abbey," MacLaine has several big-screen offerings underway, including the comedy "The Locals" opposite Alan Arkin and the Ben Stiller-directed adaptation of "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty."

Muppets Zing Fox Business Network

Miss Piggy didn't appreciate a Fox Business Network segment in which commentators accused the movie of trying to prejudice kids against business.

During a news conference last week for the U.K. premiere of "The Muppets," Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy were asked about a December segment on Eric Bolling's "Follow the Money," that posed the question, "Are Liberals Trying to Brainwash Your Kids Against Capitalism?" One guest on the segment defended the Muppets.

Piggy said of the segment: "It's almost as laughable as accusing Fox News as, you know, being news."

Kermit also denied "The Muppets" was dangerous to children. Commentators on "Follow the Money" questioned why the show had an oil executive as a villain.

"It's so dangerous. I'm so afraid!" he joked. "No, you know, it's a funny thing. (Fox Business Network was) concerned about us having some prejudice against oil companies. And I can tell you that's categorically not true.

"And besides, if we had a problem with oil companies, why would we have spent the entire film driving around in a gas-guzzling Rolls Royce?"

Ben Silverman’s Electus multimedia studio has named former Cooking Channel and Food Network executive Bruce Seidel as the head of its new food-centric YouTube channel.

The channel launches in July 2012. Seidel, who started last week, will report to Electus COO  Drew Buckley.

"Bruce Seidel’s lifelong talent and passion for food, cooking and entertainment, combined with his outstanding work rebranding the Food Network and launching Cooking Channel, both online and offline, was a driving force behind our decision to ask him to lead this charge," said Silverman. "Bruce is uniquely qualified to build and popularize our slate of food programming in a way that hasn’t been done on the web."
