GLEE’s Kevin McHale “Artie” Wants Ricky Martin to Do a Spanish Song!

GLEE’s Kevin McHale “Artie” Wants Ricky Martin to Do a Spanish Song!

Cue those music notes, Gleeks!

Kevin McHale, who plays the nerdy Artie in the Glee club, stopped by the Trevor Live project to chat anti-bullying, Glee, and, of course, this rumored new hot Spanish teacher in McKinley High!

If you haven’t heard, pop singer Ricky Martin is in talks to join Glee in a guest episode airing late January!

“Apparently, it’s the word on the street!” Kevin told me exclusively about Ricky’s rumored appearance.

So which song does he think Ricky should cover?

“Maybe it’s cliché or whatever but we’ve never done any Spanish songs on the show. I think that’d be nice to do a Spanish song, “ Kevin dished.

Kevin also talked about the best part of being on Glee.

“We are a family that’s why it’s so fun. We can have long days but at the end of the day, not just the cast but the crew, we’re so close. We love everybody and it’s so fun to make everybody laugh and sing and dance all day with each other.”

… a different question. MTV plans to announce the show’s host/hosts during its New Years Eve party live telecast next week. Access Hollywood reported months ago that a new show was in the works, using different celebrity hosts.

British Media Regulator to Investigate Jeremy Clarkson’s TV Rant

British Media Regulator to Investigate Jeremy Clarkson’s TV Rant

Ofcom, the U.K. broadcasting regulator, is investigating the "Top Gear" star’s tirade against striking public service workers.

British media regulator Ofcom is launching an investigation into Jeremy Clarkson’s onscreen tirade against striking public service workers, in which the controversial presenter said they should be taken out and “executed in front of their families.”

Ofcom, has had 763 complaints about the presenter’s appearance on the BBC’s The One Show, in addition to more than 32,000 complaints received by the BBC.

“Ofcom has taken the decision to investigate comments made by Jeremy Clarkson on BBC1’s The One Show. We will make the outcome of the investigation known in due course,” Ofcom said.

Thus far the BBC has issued an on-screen apology after the interview, and compelled its star presenter to also apologize.

But BBC bosses have also defended Clarkson, with the BBC director general Mark Thompson telling a Parliamentary committee last week that Clarkson was not to blame and that the comments were “entirely in jest and not to be taken seriously.”

Syfy Renews 'Paranormal Witnesses' for a Second Season

The top-rated docudrama will return with 12 episodes in August.

The NBCUniversal-owned cable network has renewed the unscripted series for a second season. It will return with 12 episodes next August.

Paranormal, which brings to life the real stories of people who have lived through paranormal experiences that defy explanation, is coming off a highly rated first season as the net's top-rated unscripted non-franchise freshman with all of the key younger demographics.

The series, which is produced by Raw TV (Locked Up Abroad,Gold Rush Alaska) and counts Dimitri Doganis and Bart Layton as executive producers, averaged 1.7 million total viewers and nearly 1 million in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic, according to Nielsen.

"Paranormal Witness is an edge-of-your-seat television experience and we’re thrilled that viewers made it a standout hit for us this fall,” said the network's president of original content Mark Stern in a statement. “We look forward to working with Dimitri and Bart as we showcase another terrifying round of true-life hauntings.”

"We're thrilled this series is returning; we think it is unlike anything else out there. The stories are totally gripping, visually arresting and genuinely very scary," added Layton and Doganis. "We approach these shows as individual horror movies."

Canal+, ITI Merge Polish Pay TV Operations

Canal+, ITI Merge Polish Pay TV Operations

French pay TV giant Canal+ has signed a deal to merge its Polish pay TV operations, Cyfra+, with those of local media conglomerate ITI Group. Under the deal, Cyfra+ and ITI’s pay TV operation “n” will fuse, with Canal+ taking a direct 51 percent stake in the new company. ITI’s commercial TV operation TVN will hold 32 percent with Liberty Global’s Dutch cable group UPC controlling the final 17 percent.

Canal+ has an option to buy up TVN’s 32 percent stake in the newly-created pay TV group, three or four years after the deal closes. If the French group does not exercise its option, TVN can take its share in the new pay TV operation public four years after closing.

The agreement will also see Canal+ take a stake in TVN, a commercial TV network, which has an audience share of around 16 percent in Poland.

Canal+ will pay + pay $300 million (€230 million) for a 40 percent stake in N-Vision, the holding company that controls 51  percent of TVN. ITI will control the remaining 60 percent stake in N-Vision as well as retaining its 3 percent direct holding in TVN. The remainder of TVN’s stock is in free-float.

ITI has a put option to sell Canal+ an addition 9 percent of N-Vision to Canal+, two years after signing of the current deal.

Veteran broadcasting executives Markus Tellenbach and Beata Monka have been named CEO and deputy CEO, respectively, of the new pay TV company, which is expected to reach some 2.5 million customers by the end of this year. Canal+ is forecasting a customer base of more than 3 million by the end of 2015 and operating profits (EBITDA) in excess of $160 million (550 million Polish Zloty).

MTV Tosses 'Choose or Lose' Catchphrase for Election Coverage

MTV Tosses 'Choose or Lose' Catchphrase for Election Coverage

The cable network adopts a new slogan, "Power of 12," in an effort to inspire the cynical youth voting bloc.

MTV is losing its "Choose or Lose" catchphrase for election coverage.

The cable network has replaced its campaign slogan of almost 20 years for a new one -- "Power of 12" --  which it hopes will energize today's disillusioned youth to vote in the upcoming presidential election, the New York Times reports. The "12" signifies the election year, and the "Power" suggests that young people within the 18-to-29-year-old demo have much influence over the 2012 race -- if they take action, that is.

According to the Times, MTV's research revealed that even though youth showed up in droves to champion President Barack Obama last election, they remained cynical about the electoral process.

“They were so passionate,” said MTV president Stephen K. Friedman. "And then they hit this wall of the economy.” He added of the name-switch: "Voting is one step in the process -- just one step. The question for this generation is, they’ve got this power, will they exert it?”

MTV launched "Choose or Lose" in 1992, introducing voter-registration programs and such interactive events as a town hall meeting with then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton (wherein he declared, "I didn't inhale"). With "Power of 12," the election fervor continues with an MTV News documentary featuring 25-year-old filmmaker Andrew Jenks encountering Republican candidates; long-time MTV News Correspondent, Sway Calloway, will join Jenks on the trail. The network will also air a special, called "When I Was 22," about the candidates at that age. Also on tap: a voter-registration site designed to engage youth with a fantasy football-style election game, subbing in politicians for athletes.

Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple Head to Japan

Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple Head to Japan

ITV Studios signs HD deal with NHK Japan for the star-studded whodunit series.

NHK Japan will air the all-new series of primetime dramas Agatha Christie’s Poirot and Agatha Christie’s Marple on its premium HD service next year, the broadcaster said Monday.

Japan's NHK World Wins Broadcaster of Year in New Internet TV Awards For Disaster Coverage

NHK has picked up a total of 12 murder-themed TV movies, which feature ensemble casts made up of  some of British TV’s favorite stars including Hugh Bonneville, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dame Eileen Atkins, Amanda Holden, John Hannah, as well as David Suchet as Poirot and Julia McKenzie - and previously Geraldine James - as Miss Marple.

The deal was struck by ITV Studios Global Entertainment and NHK. The ITV Studios/WGBH -produced  whodunit series is part of a long tradition of Christie productions at ITV, which aired the original Poirot series (also starring David Suchet) in the late nineties.

Scheduled to air on the NHK BS-Premium, it will be broadcast on the high definition-only satellite channel in 2012,

Augustus Dulgaro, ITV Studios svp Pacific, commented: “This renewed deal with Japan’s main broadcaster is a fantastic example of the continued demand for high-quality U.K.-produced drama in Asia.”

The series has proved one of the broadcasters most popular exports, selling altogether in 200 territories.

ITV1 and ITV Studios recently announced that Agatha Christie’s Marple has been re-commissioned for a further three films and that production will commence on the remaining Poirot novels and short stories next year.

Bravo's Blondetourage Returns on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" Season Seven Premiering on Tuesday, February 7

Bravo's Blondetourage Returns on "The Real Housewives of Orange County" Season Seven Premiering on Tuesday, February 7

Bravo's original series that started the hit franchise, "The Real Housewives of Orange County," returns for season seven on Tuesday, February 7 at 9pm ET/PT. Reeling from the repercussions of last season's drama, the series once again ventures behind the gates for a salacious look at the loves and lives unfolding inside one of Southern California's wealthiest communities. This season Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney, Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino welcome brunette bombshell Heather Dubrow, a former actress and now stay-at-home mother of four who is married to a prominent Newport Beach plastic surgeon.

Still in the process of divorcing Donn, Vicki puts her house up for sale and introduces the wives to Brooks, her new Southern boyfriend. Vicki is blissfully in love, but her kids and some of the women start to worry that Vicki is moving too fast with this relationship. Vicki continues to deal with her daughter Briana's health issues, but it's another shocking surprise that leaves Vicki completely speechless.

Longtime foes Tamra and Gretchen finally try to bury the hatchet and begin a blossoming friendship. But this unlikely twosome causes a strain in both Tamra's relationship with best friend, Vicki, and Gretchen's romance with boyfriend, Slade.

On the precipice of finalizing her divorce from her ex-husband, Tamra begins to take her relationship with boyfriend Eddie to the next level.

But with so much change in her life and her new-found sense of freedom, Tamra is torn between jumping in head first or taking it slow.

Gretchen begins a daring new chapter in her life when she takes to the stage as a singer and dancer with the Pussycat Dolls in Las Vegas. Her relationship with Slade becomes strained as he continues to dwell on past battles with Tamra and Vicki.

Alexis continues to test the boundaries of independence with her husband Jim when she gets a job as a correspondent with a local morning news show. She also continues to run her dress line business, but is quickly learning that it's not easy to manage it all and run a household. As Tamra and Gretchen become closer, Alexis fears she is losing her only ally in this group of women.

Season six of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" was the highest rated season of the series among all key demos, averaging 2,560,000 total viewers, and 1,917,000 adults 18-49.

Season seven of "The Real Housewives of Orange County" is produced by Evolution Media for Bravo, with partners Douglas Ross, Gregory Stewart and Kathleen French along with Scott Dunlop and Kevin Lee serving as executive producers.

Hit Series "American Restoration" Returns With All-New Episodes

Hit Series "American Restoration" Returns With All-New Episodes

It takes plenty of know-how to transform a piece of rusty trash into a valuable historic treasure. Rick Dale, owner of Rick's Restorations, a Las Vegas restoration shop, is up for the challenge - and HISTORY viewers love to see him in action. AMERICAN RESTORATION is currently averaging 2.5 million total viewers and boosting the Friday 10-11 p.m. time slot by more than 140 percent.

Now, AMERICAN RESTORATION returns for new episodes starting Wednesday, January 11 at 10 p.m. with back-to-back episodes on HISTORY. Rick's customers bring in a brand new batch of oddball artifacts - from a hair raising antique mechanical bull, to a mammoth meat slicer from 1913. When these dusty relics come into the shop, they seem beyond repair. But when they leave, they are collectibles that look and perform like new, and usually worth a lot more than before.

AMERICAN RESTORATION tells the story behind things you just don't see any more. Rick and his colorful crew bring back to life an Edison projector from the early 1900's...a tandem bicycle...a rare gas pump...vintage Pepsi cooler...a 1950's juke box...and much more. And with no owner's manual in sight every repair is its own mystery. What did the original Mutoscope look like? Where do you find replacement parts for a 1940's candy machine...or will they have to be manufactured from scratch? These treasures make up the tapestry of American culture; for every piece that gets refurbished, a bit of history comes back to life.

AMERICAN RESTORATION is produced for HISTORY by Leftfield Pictures. Brent Montgomery is Executive Producer for Leftfield Pictures and Matthew Braley is Co-Executive Producer. John Verhoff is Executive Producer for HISTORY.

Howard Stern Responds to Parents Television Council's 'America's Got Talent' Concerns on 'Piers Morgan Tonight'

Howard Stern Responds to Parents Television Council's 'America's Got Talent' Concerns on 'Piers Morgan Tonight'

The shock jock says to Piers Morgan, whom he'll replace on the NBC series, that organizations like the PTC make complaints that he'll "convert Americans into some kind of zombie sex fiends."

After Piers Morgan announced that he was not returning to America's Got Talent as one of the judges, NBC officially tapped shock jock Howard Stern to take his place on the panel.

Shortly after, the Parents Television Council blasted NBC for even considering Stern in the first place, calling it "an act of desperation for a failing network."

Stern responded to the PTC's concerns on Morgan's CNN talk show Piers Morgan Tonight and didn't hold back.

"Networks shudder for people like this," he told Morgan on the phone. "I guess they get their printer out and they make a letterhead and they start to complain that I'm some sort of weird pervert who is going to convert Americans into some kind of zombie sex fiends."

Stern reassured Morgan and viewers that he would take his new post seriously. "What I can assure you and the rest of America is what I'm looking at here is to be a very good judge," Stern said. "I take it seriously. You know I watch the show," to which Morgan nodded in the affirmative.

Stern added: "I think [NBC] became enamored with me because they knew I was honest. Whatever you think of me, I will give you an honest opinion. My goal is to find real talent, to actually find someone who can become a major superstar."

PTC president Tim Winter said in the organization's statement that NBC's move will mean "in just over three weeks the network will be standing before the United States Supreme Court arguing for the right to use the F-word any time of the day, even in front of children."

NBC's president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy said on Thursday of Stern's hire a more positive message: "Howard Stern's larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America's Got Talent starting this summer."

Once Upon a Time Casts Amy Acker as Love Interest – Get Exclusive Details

Once Upon a Time Casts Amy Acker as Love Interest – Get Exclusive Details

Once Upon a Time has dipped into the Whedonverse yet again to fill a guest-starring role.

Amy Acker, who had roles on both Joss Whedon’s Angel and Dollhouse, will visit ABC’s fantastical freshman drama as a romantic interest for both Grumpy (of the Seven Dwarves) and his surly Storybrooke counterpart, Leroy, in a late winter episode that delves into the grouch’s backstory.

Lee Arenberg (Grumpy/Leroy) cheered the casting via Twitter, saying that on Friday he was “living the dream” working opposite both Acker and Ginnifer Goodwin (aka Snow White/Mary Margaret) — though it was not clear in which of the show’s two worlds their scenes were taking place.

Well, we can exclusively report that Acker will play characters in both Storybrooke and the fairy tale world that was.

Earlier this fall, Once cast Buffy the Vampire Slayer alumna Emma Caulfield as the Blind Witch from Hansel and Gretel lore; she will appear in this season’s ninth episode (get exclusive scoop here). Of course, Buffy/Angel/Dollhouse vet Jane Espenson is a writer/producer for Once.

Acker’s TV resume also includes ABC’s Happy Town and No Ordinary Family, and last month’s Lifetime movie Dear Santa. Ironically, she will also guest-star this winter on NBC’s Grimm, which like Once (though in a decidedly different way) revolves around fairy tale characters.

Once Upon a Time, having aired its seventh episode/fall finale this month, resumes its freshman run Jan. 8.

Gary Cole joins 'Hart of Dixie' as Rachel Bilson's dad. Kind of. It's complicated.

Gary Cole joins 'Hart of Dixie' as Rachel Bilson's dad. Kind of. It's complicated.

When we first met Rachel Bilson's character, Zoe Hart, in the "Hart of Dixie" pilot, her daddy issues were immediately apparent -- and that was even before she found out that her real father was dead, and the man she'd called "Dad" all her life had known for years that she wasn't biologically his.

Ouch.

When "Hart of Dixie" returns this spring, we'll delve even deeper into that emotional swampland. Gary Cole will join the show in a multi-episode arc, playing Zoe's dad, the hotshot surgeon she's tried all her life to impress. Cole, of course, is a highly recognizable TV actor, having appeared in memorable roles on "Desperate Housewives," "Entourage," and "The Good Wife." TVLine first reported the news.

Weigh in, "Dixie" fans! Will Zoe keep trying to win her dad's approval, or is she a changed woman? What do you think he'll think of Bluebell? More importantly, what do you think he'll think of Wade?

'House' Season 9: Could it happen? Hugh Laurie weighs in

'House' Season 9: Could it happen? Hugh Laurie weighs in

Now in its eighth season, "House" is still successful as far as ratings go, though critics and fans have certainly wavered on the show's quality standing up to previous seasons. Normally, we'd say that it's a shoo-in for renewal come May, but this year, the fate of "House" is a bit of a toss-up.

Why? Hugh Laurie's contract is up this spring, and if he chooses not to continue on with the show, it will, obviously, be axed. You can't have "House" without House.

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Laurie admits that he's still undecided about a potential Season 9. "Too soon to say. We're still wetting our fingers and sticking them up in the air to see which way the wind's blowing. There are lots of things to be taken into account," he says.

If he does sign on for Season 9, he thinks there's a good shot at Season 10, too. "It may very well be [the final season], or we may drive on and see if we can make a clear two decades. Who knows?"

He makes sure to assure fans that he is still happy with the series. "I'm very proud of the show. I think we all are very proud of the shows we're doing now, and I hope that people enjoy them. So, steady as she goes," he says.

NBC Announces Sneak-Peek Preview of New Hidden-Camera Series "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" on January 16

The preview will be immediately preceded that same night by the 90-minute special "Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl."

NBC announced that it has scheduled a sneak-peek preview of the new comedic hidden-camera series "Betty White's Off Their Rockers" for Monday, January 16 (9:30-10 p.m. ET) that will be immediately preceded that same night by the 90-minute special "Betty White's 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America's Golden Girl" from 8-9:30 p.m. (ET).

The special will celebrate White's 90th birthday and will honor one of the world's most beloved entertainers. The star-studded event will tape live at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Some of Hollywood's biggest stars, including many of White's co-stars, will be on hand to deliver their birthday wishes. The evening will include special musical performances, surprise appearances and comedy, featuring the irreverent tone, spirit and energy that are the hallmark of White's six-decade career in show business. The special is produced by Brad Lachman Productions and Universal Television; the executive producers are Brad Lachman, Jon Macks and Steve Ridgeway.

In the series preview, America's favorite comedy sweetheart sends a fearless band of senior citizens to the streets to pull shockingly hilarious pranks on the younger generation in "Betty White's Off Their Rockers," an outrageously funny "hidden-camera" show unlike anything viewers have ever seen. As star of the series, the inimitable and charming White will be featured in brazenly funny sketches, providing saucy commentary between the pranks and sharing her engaging, comical pearls of wisdom.

White stars in every "Rockers" episode in unpredictable comedy moments - reflecting her own unique comedic style - and she is also the on-camera host. White, a seven-time Emmy Award winner, will executive-produce the series, adapted from the hit Belgium series "Benidorm Bastards." "People have been telling me that I'm "Off My Rockers" for years," says White. "Now I can prove it!"

Chris Coelen, Matilda Zoltowski, Betty White, Scott Hallock, Kevin Healey, Tim Van Aelst and Tim Gibbons are the executive producers of the series, produced by Kinetic Content in association with Hallock Healey Entertainment.
