TV Worth Watching This Week

TV Worth Watching This Week

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 27

8 pm Glee (Fox) | You either loved “Grilled Cheesus” or you hated it. I fell into the first camp and will probably be checking out this encore.

9 pm Hardcore Pawn (truTV) | Father and son face off when a short-staffed disaster leads to a store full of angry customers.

9 pm Kennedy Center Honors (CBS) | President and Mrs. Obama are in attendance as singer Barbara Cook, singer/songwriter Neil Diamond, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, saxophonist/composer Sonny Rollins and actress Meryl Streep receive this year’s honors.

10 pm Parenthood (NBC) | This is the episode where Amber helped Max smooth things over with Jabbar, while Kristina got ready to give birth. You will bawl again.

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 28

8 pm From Dusk ‘Til Dawn (IFC) | Clooney and Tarantino as brothers? Good. Vampires? Good. Salma Hayek dancing with a snake. Goooood.

9 pm Criminal Minds (CBS) | This repeat features the Jacksonville, Fla. case that hit home for Morgan.

9 pm New Girl (Fox) | Believe it or not, kids, back when this comedy first started, there was a different third guy roommate! Tune in for this repeat of the series pilot and see if you can recognize the actor, who’s actually now on a different show!

10 pm State of Play (BBC America) | After Cal and his team corner Dominic Foy, they discover a connection between him and a firm who lobby on behalf of the oil industry.

10 pm Hot in Cleveland (TV Land) | Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) guest-stars as Victoria’s new (hand) model boyfriend.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 29

8 pm Happy New Year, Charlie Brown (ABC) | The Peanuts gang is set to ring in 1986, and Chuck has big plans for the night: reading Tolstoy’s War and Peace.

8 pm Community (NBC) | “I am Jehovah’s most secret witness!” Journey back multiple weeks to revisit the time the study group subbed for Greendale’s glee club.

9 pm Bones (Fox) | This repeat of last season’s finale features a certain baby bombshell dropped by one Temperance Brennan. Change in the game, indeed.

9 pm The Secret Circle (The CW) | Series pilot: Hey, remember that Nick guy who lived next to Cassie…?

9 pm NY Ink (TLC) | Season 2 premiere: The Wooster Street Social Club is now the hottest tattoo shop in NYC, but more success means more problems for Ami.

10 pm Hook, Line and Sisters (TLC) | A series premiere worth noting if only (and I mean if only) because of its trying-so-hard title. (It’s about a family of commercial fishermen, fronted by two daughters.)

10 pm Beavis and Butt-Head (MTV) | The boys visit a brothel, but all is not as it seems.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 30

8 pm Chuck (NBC) | As we explore the fallout of last week’s episode-ending reveal, Tim DeKay (White Collar) guest-stars as Sarah’s very first handler, while Cheryl Ladd (Charlie’s Angels) plays her mother.

9 pm The Life & Times of Tim (HBO) | Tim competes in a “caddy-off” with a 14-year-old; to impress Amy’s dad, Tim claims to have a lucratve career shilling sausages.

10 pm Sanctuary (Syfy) | Season finale, Part 2: Will Magnus’ plan be the salvation of Abnormal-kind… or its doom?
