BBC on 'Voice' UK, 'Britain's Got Talent' clash: 'ITV clearly worried'

The BBC has reportedly accused ITV of being "worried" about The Voice UK after scheduling Britain's Got Talent directly against it.

It was revealed yesterday (March 13) that both shows will clash for 45 minutes when they launch on Saturday, March 24.

The Voice was pushed forward from its original 7.15pm airtime to 7pm to lessen the overlap, but ITV retaliated by moving Britain's Got Talent from 7.45pm to 7.30pm.

Following the scheduling conflict, an alleged BBC source told The Mirror: "ITV is clearly worried. We are really disappointed and some TV fans will be too."

Meanwhile, an ITV insider responded: "We want BGT in primetime and we know people love the show. We are not worried about what The Voice does."

Executives from the BBC are said to be trying to contact ITV in order to reach a compromise before tonight's scheduling deadline.

Speaking back in January, Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell admitted that he recognised The Voice as a threat.
