Colin Baker denies 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary multi-Doctor story

Colin Baker has denied published reports that all the living Doctor Who lead actors will return in a 50th anniversary special.

The latest round of rumours came from an article in The Birmingham Mail, in which an insider claimed that Matt Smith would appear with his previous counterparts in a November episode.

Baker - who played the Sixth Doctor - let his Twitter followers know today (January 22) that he is unaware of any plans for a televised Doctor Who reunion.

"Alas apart from The Big Finish [audio drama] plans I am not aware of any 50th stories nor have I been approached," Baker tweeted.

Baker later responded to a Twitter follower who suggested that he could be intentionally hiding the truth about Doctor Who's anniversary plans.

"There's no point in me tweeting if you don't believe me," he insisted.

Little is known about how Doctor Who will celebrate the milestone, other than showrunner Steven Moffat's promise that the celebration will be "immense".

There will be a docudrama called An Adventure in Time and Space about the beginnings of Doctor Who, which is being written by Mark Gatiss and produced by Matt Strevens.

Doctor Who will return to BBC One and BBC America with new episodes later this year.
