'Bunheads' picked up to series by ABC Family
ABC Family has ordered new drama Bunheads to series.
The project stars Sutton Foster as a Las Vegas showgirl, Michelle, who ends up moving to a small town after getting married impulsively.
After moving, Michelle begins working in the town's dance school, which is owned by her new mother-in-law.
The project has now been picked up to series, Deadline reports.
Foster has previously appeared in episodes of Flight of the Conchords and guest starred in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Meanwhile, Bunheads is being penned by Amy Sherman-Palladino, who previously created Gilmore Girls and worked on Roseanne.
ABC Family had also been developing two other pilots, a Jennie Garth comedy called Village People and a drama about college students solving crimes. However, the network has reportedly passed on both of them.
