X Factor 2012: Chris Maloney branded 'fake' by rival finalists

Numerous reports claim that Chris’ rivals have suggested he’s been pretending to be nervous in a bid to gain votes.

The singer was originally rejected by Gary Barlow for the Overs category, but was voted back into the live shows by the public as a wild card act.

But some of his rival finalists have called into question Chris’ nerves, which Gary had blamed for not putting him through to the live shows originally.

One of the show’s contestants is quoted as telling The Sun: Christopher could not be any more different off camera.

“He isn’t nervous at all and is actually quite big-headed.”

And eliminated contestant Carolynne Poole, who left the show on Sunday night, added: “I didn’t see he was shy.

“The reason people say things about him is he is a confident, bold person so they are surprised when they see the nerves.”

Meanwhile a source told the Daily Star today that the other contestants were hoping Amy Mottram would be voted back into the show at the weekend.

“Out of all the wild cards, they wanted Essex girl Amy Mottram back. Everyone loved her,” the insider said. “They were gutted it was Chris. They think he is fraud.”

The X Factor 2012 continues this Saturday night on ITV1, with the results show following on Sunday night with performances from Taylor Swift and Rebecca Ferguson.
