CBS Wants 11th Season of 'Two and a Half Men,' Expects More 'Mother'

CBS wants an eleventh season of "Two and a Half Men," and expects to announce soon that "How I Met Your Mother" will be back for a ninth season, CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler said Saturday.

"We've told Warner Bros. we would like to have an eleventh season and they're equally interested," Tassler said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour Saturday.

She also said she hopes star Angus T. Jones, who earlier this year denounced the show as "filthy" and urged people not to watch it, will return to the show. She noted that he has apologized.

"We'd like him to be a part of that," she said.  "He's made a public apology and we'd like to move on."

She said she believes Jones will want to return as well. But she said none of the cast has signed on.

Asked about Jones' comments, she noted that he is 19 -- and said her own 24-year-old son sometimes says things she would prefer he didn't, as well.

Tassler also said a deal to bring back "Mother" is very close.
