Jennifer Morrison 'not returning to House for series finale'

Jennifer Morrison has confirmed that she will not return to House for the show's series finale.

The Fox medical drama, which stars Hugh Laurie, will conclude on May 21 after eight seasons.

Morrison, who played Dr Allison Cameron from 2004 to 2010, told Entertainment Weekly: "No-one's contacted me [about returning], and we're way too close for it to even be a possibility."

The actress, who currently stars in ABC's Once Upon a Time, added: "It's a really special show and became an important part of television pop culture. I feel really lucky to have been a part of it."

Last year, Morrison told that she would "love" to return to House for a guest appearance.

"I love Cameron and I'll always have an affection for [that character]," she said. "So if I were given the opportunity to [come back], of course I would."

Lisa Edelstein (Lisa Cuddy) will also be absent from the final House episode, it was confirmed last month.

The instalment will be directed and co-written by House creator David Shore.

'Dancing on Ice' Andy Whyment: 'Judges' criticism annoyed me'

Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment has defended his performances on Dancing on Ice, hitting out at the constant criticism he picked up from the judges.

Whyment challenged the negative remarks he got from Robin Cousins, Katarina Witt and Louie Spence for his 'Don't Look Back In Anger' routine, claiming that he was proud of his improvement on the ice.

"When they said it was emotionless it really annoyed me, because you put a lot of hard work into it. It's not like you just turn up on a Sunday and do the show; you train for two hours a day and I actually thought I'd skated really well," Whyment told This Morning.

"As far as I was concerned it was called Dancing on Ice and not Emotion on Ice and I thought I skated better. I was just a bit upset."

Whyment and his pro skating partner Vicky Ogden will be taking part in the Dancing on Ice tour and the soap star confessed that he was pleased to be getting a short break from the ice before heading out on the UK jaunt.

"I knew I was never going to win it, so I'm glad I'm out now, so I can have a couple of weeks off before we start rehearsals for the tour," he said.

"You kind of get wrapped up in the Dancing on Ice bubble and last week I was only home for a day and a half and I've got two young children. My wife has been fantastic; she really has and I'm just made up that I'm out now and can spend a bit of time with them."

Dancing on Ice continues this Sunday (March 11) with Props Week.

Gloria Estefan is helping the CW keep it real.

The Latin pop performer has signed on to mentor in "The Star Next Door," a new music reality series and one of a trio of reality shows that the CW announced Monday.

Executive-produced by Queen Latifah and Dave Broome (of "The Biggest Loser"), "The Star Next Door" will feature Estefan, country singer John Rich and other musicians scouring the nation for homegrown talent, grooming and mentoring the local performers as they prepare to ready themselves for a nationwide audience. The series is being produced by CBS's Raquel Productions, 25/7 Productions and Flavor Unit Entertainment, with additional mentors and a host to be announced at a later date.

Also announced by the CW on Monday: "Breaking Pointe," which will deliver "an intense, unfiltered look at one of the most competitive ballet companies in the country, Ballet West, in Salt Lake City, Utah." The BBC Worldwide Productions series promises to expose the "gritty dog-eat-dog world of extreme athleticism, focus, dedication, passion, pressure and, of course, the hunt for the unattainable…perfection," according to the CW. Kate Shepherd and Bill Langworthy are executive-producing, along with Izzie Pick Ashcroft and Jane Tranter, who will executive-produce for BBC Worldwide Productions.

Finally, "The Catalina" will follow the young, wild and fun-loving staff at The Catalina hotel in Miami's South Beach, who spend their time "partying even harder than their guests." Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey are executive-producing for Bischoff Hervey Entertainment.

The three new series join the previously announced "Oh Sit!" which is described as "a fun, high-stakes, high-octane musical chairs competition" featuring daredevils performing demanding physical challenges.

"Ozzy Osbourne" and "animated" aren't words that are typically associated with each other -- but that's all about to change.

Toronto-based animation group Cuppa Coffee Studios -- the people behind Comedy Central's "Ugly Americans" -- will launch a new series featuring Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack in April. The series is dubbed "The F'n Osbournes" -- though, according to Cuppa Coffee, the "F" stands for "family."

According to Cuppa Coffee Studios' president Adam Shaheen -- who created the series and will co-executive produce the series, along with Sharon and Jack Osbourne -- the stop-motion offering "combines absurd animated sitcom premises that only the Osbournes can pull off!”

"The F'n Osbournes" will begin production over the summer. Cuppa Coffee hopes to finalize sales of the series at the MIPTV gathering in Cannes, which takes place in early April. The family will play themselves on the series.

Though Sharon Osbourne has been a fairly ubiquitous presence on the small screen with stints on "The Talk" and "America's Got Talent," and Kelly Osbourne can regularly be seen as a host on the E! program "Fashion Police," this will be the first small-screen venture for the Osbournes as a family unit since their short-lived variety series "Osbournes Reloaded" on Fox in 2009.

James Cameron Leading Titanic 100th Anniversary Special on NatGeo

"National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence" -- and "Titanic" movie Oscar winner --  James Cameron will lead a new two-hour special called "Titanic: The Final Word With James Cameron" on April 8 to mark the 100th anniversary of the Titanic's sinking.

Described as the "ultimate cold-case investigation into the tragedy," Cameron's NatGeo special will unfold on a sound stage with a 42-foot replica of the ship in the background, as Cameron gathers the world's foremost Titanic experts -- engineers, naval architects, artists and historians -- to try to come up with the ultimate explanation of why the unsinkable ship sank in April 1912.

"An investigation of this magnitude has never been attempted before, and some of the revelations may alter the fundamental interpretation of what exactly happened to the Titanic," according to a NatGeo release.

On April 9, National Geographic Channel will air "Save the Titanic With Bob Ballard," in which Ballard, the man who discovered the Titanic's final resting place in 1985, travels to Ireland to meet some of the men who helped build the ship and discusses how the ship's remains are in danger from looters, among other threats.

"If the Titanic is not protected and there's no guard on duty, it will get stripped," Ballard said in a statement. "It'll get stripped until all the jewels have been taken off the old lady's body."

National Geographic magazine will devote a cover story to the Titanic anniversary; Cameron's 1997 "Titanic" film, which won 11 Oscars, will be re-released on April 4, including IMAX 3D showings.

THE AMAZING RACE notched significant across-the-board gains and 60 MINUTES, THE GOOD WIFE and CSI: MIAMI won their respective time periods in viewers leading CBS to a Sunday win in viewers, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for March 4.

60 MINUTES was first in households (7.3/12), viewers (11.47m) and adults 25-54 (2.7/07) and second in adults 18-49 (1.6/05).

THE AMAZING RACE 20 was second in households (6.0/09), viewers (10.37m, -0.25m behind ABC), adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and adults 18-49 (2.8/07). Compared to last week, THE AMAZING RACE 20 was up +40% in households (from 4.3/06), +23% in adults 25-54 (from 3.1/06), +27% in adults 18-49 (from 2.2/05) and added +2.66m viewers (from 7.71m, +35%).

THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (6.3/09), viewers (9.71m) while averaging 2.7/06 in adults 25-54 and 1.8/04 in adults 18-49.

CSI: MIAMI was first in households (6.4/11) and viewers (10.00m) while averaging 2.8/07 in adults 25-54 and 2.0/05 in adults 18-49.

For the night, CBS was first in households (6.5/10) and viewers (10.39m) and second in adults 25-54 (3.0/07) and adults 18-49 (2.1/05).
