CBS Greenlights Comedy From 'The Muppets' Scribe

The network has ordered a twentysomething ensemble comedy pilot loosely based on Nick Stoller’s real-life experience.

CBS is getting into business with feature writer Nick Stoller.

The network has ordered his untitled multi-camera comedy to pilot. The project, which hails from Chernin Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television, is loosely based on Stoller’s real-life experiences.

In keeping with the Two Broke Girls and How I Met Your Mother comic sensibility, the project has been described as a twenty-something ensemble comedy about a guy who gets his heart broken by his girlfriend and now has to work one cubicle away from her at an ad agency.

Stoller will write and direct the pilot as well as serve as an executive producer alongside Chernin’s Katherine Pope and Peter Chernin.

This marks the network’s second comedy pickup behind Jon Favreau’s Tweaked.

Stoller, who got his break on Fox's Underdeclared before shifting to the big screen with such projects as The Muppets and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, is repped by y UTA and Ziffren Brittenham.
