Producers Guild Awards Name 'The Artist' Motion Picture of Year; 'Boardwalk Empire' Scores TV Drama: Complete Winners List

The 23rd annual Producers Guild Awards were presented at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Jan. 21.

The producers of ABC's Modern Family took home the first award of the night for outstanding episodic comedy television show

The PGA nominated 10 movies for its top film prize, the Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures. Of the 10, two comedies (Bridesmaids and Midnight in Paris) and the family-friendly Hugo from Martin Scorsese went up against dramas The Artist, The Descendants and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

In the television category, HBO led the pack with Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Cinema Verite, Mildred Pierce and Too Big to Fail all receiving noms.
