Howie Mandel's 'Mobbed' continues to grow in ratings

Howie Mandel's Mobbed rose again last night (Wednesday), Nielsen overnight data reveals.

The 9pm reality series pulled in 8.8m (3.0) for Fox, posting a 900k increase on last week's impressive figure.

American Idol, meanwhile, held a strong audience of 18.9m (6.0) for the network in the 8pm hour, climbing 600k week-on-week.

Returning for new episodes after a three-week hiatus, The Middle (8.5m/2.6), Suburgatory (7.3m/2.5), Modern Family (12.9m/5.5), Happy Endings (6.9m/3.0) and Revenge (7.6m/2.5) performed solidly for ABC.

A CBS news special, Person to Person, interested just 6m (1.1). The weak lead-in did not help Criminal Minds (13.6m/3.4) and CSI (11.4m/2.7), which both lost viewers.

Meanwhile, Whitney (4.1m/1.5) and Are You There, Chelsea? (3.7m/1.5) were roughly steady, after which 5.3m (1.1) watched Rock Centre with Brian Williams, before the audience soared to 6.7m (2.4) for Law & Order: SVU.

Elsewhere, One Tree Hill (1.3m/0.7) and Remodeled (710k/0.4) aired on The CW.
