Details: Lisa McCune's new TV show Reef Doctors

Network Ten has announced that multiple-Gold Logie-winner Lisa McCune will lead the cast of its upcoming drama Reef Doctors, about — you guessed it — doctors who work on a coral reef.

The 13-episode hour-long drama is set on the Great Barrier Reef and revolves around Sam, a spirited GP and single mum who runs the Hope Island Clinic. The team of medics working out of the clinic look after the island's residents, holidaymakers and visiting thrill-seekers, and capture all the nasties that live in the reef to harvest their venom.

Production on Reef Doctors commences in Far North Queensland in early December.

Lisa will be very accustomed to shooting in the Queensland heat: she was based in Cairns for five years while she filmed Sea Patrol, which wrapped up earlier this year.

Her co-stars in Reef Doctors include Matt Day (Rake and Tangle) and Richard Brancatisano (Underbelly: Razor).
