TV Worth Watching This Sunday

On TV this Sunday: Storybrooke feels sadness, the Race comes to an end, A&E opens a Bag of Bones, HBO closes the Boardwalk Empire and then shares a bit of Luck, and more. Here are 11 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm Once Upon a Time (ABC) | Fall finale: One of the town’s residents begins to remember their past; Storybrooke mourns the loss of one of their own; in the fairytale world, the Evil Queen attempts to find a heartless assassin to murder Snow White.

8 pm The Amazing Race (CBS) | Season finale: The final three teams race to Atlanta, Ga., where a smooth landing evades one team as their competition soars.

8 pm The Simpsons (Fox) | Flashing forward 30 years to a futuristic Springfield, Bart and Lisa have children of their own and decide to spend the holidays as one big family at Homer and Marge’s house.

8:30 pm The Cleveland Show (Fox) | To help pass time while posing in a nativity scene, Cleveland tells his family his own version of one of his favorite holiday stories: Die Hard. And… cue full-on parody.

9 pm Stephen King’s Bag of Bones (A&E) | In this two-night miniseries, widowed novelist Mike Noonan (Pierce Brosnan) is inspired to return to his and his late wife’s old lakeside retreat in Maine. There, he Mike befriends a young widow (Melissa George), is plagued by ghostly visitations from a blues singer (Anika Noni Rose) and comes to realize that his Mrs. (Annabeth Gish) still has something to tell him.

9 pm The Good Wife (CBS) | As Alicia looks for a way to have a judgment thrown out following a shocking guilty verdict, she also begins to feel the consequences of decisions in her personal life.

9 pm Boardwalk Empire (HBO) | Season finale: With Nucky’s trial looming, Jimmy looks to make amends.  After weighing an offer from Esther Randolph, Margaret makes a decision that will change the course of her future – and Nucky’s.

9 pm Dexter (Showtime) | Dexter finds that in order to catch the Doomsday Killers, he must create a macabre tableau of his own; Debra’s therapist makes an unnerving suggestion.

10 pm Luck (HBO) | Series sneak preview: From director Michael Mann and Deadwood creator David Milch comes this provocative look at the world of horse racing and all its colorful (and sometimes criminal) players.  The cast features Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina, Jason Gedrick, Jill Hennessy, Tom Payne and Nick Nolte.

10 pm Hell on Wheels (AMC) | Durant attempts to end ongoing negotiations with the Cheyenne by challenging them to a competition; Cullen and Elam scramble to prevent bloodshed in town.

10 pm Homeland (Showtime) | Saul looks after recently hospitalized Carrie when he finds her postulating a mile a minute about Abu Nazir. But by applying his sense of order to her chaotic theories, he unearths what appears to be the heart of the terrorist mastermind’s plot. Meanwhile, Brody takes his family to Gettysburg to spend one last weekend with them before his congressional campaign begins — and before his deadly mission is to take place.
