'Celebrity Deal or No Deal' opens with 2m viewers on Easter Sunday
Celebrity Deal or No Deal made its debut last night (Easter Sunday) with 2 million viewers, overnight figures show.
The Noel Edmonds gameshow pulled in 1.77m (7.3%) in the 8pm hour and 253k (1%) on Channel 4 +1 for Jimmy Carr's game, which saw the comic pick up £750 for charity and kicked off a special run of primetime shows.
Damian Lewis's Homeland followed with a solid 1.82m (7.4%) and 336k (1.7%) on +1.
Fellow US drama Once Upon a Time, launching to a high audience last week, retained a decent 1.67m (6.9%) for Channel 5 at 8pm (+1: 103k/0.4%). Royal documentary William and Kate: One Year On enthralled 1.69m (7.6%) at 7pm.
Over on BBC Two, the Masters Golf final scored 2.16m (11.4%) between 7pm and 12.45am, with a peak of 2.8m watching at 11.30pm.
Elsewhere, Julian Fellowes's Titanic sunk to a disappointing average of 3.17m (11.8%) for ITV1 at 9pm (+1: 364k/1.9%). The mini-series, which premiered with nearly 7m, concludes next week.
Des O'Connor's return to ITV primetime went down without much fanfare, with 3.46m (14.5%) tuning in at 7.30pm (+1: 172k/0.7%), while All Star Family Fortunes had 3.37m (16.3%) at 6.30pm (+1: 102k/0.4%).
Meanwhile on BBC One, Countryfile (5.19m/23.4%), Antiques Roadshow (5.4m/22.2%) and Silent Witness (5.88m/23.8%) all posted slot-winning numbers.
This meant that BBC One led primetime with 22.6%, ahead of ITV1's 12.5% (+1: 0.8%), BBC Two's 9.2%, Channel 4's 6.6% (+1: 1.3%), and Channel 5's 5.6% (+1: 0.4%).
BBC Three's Shrek the Third logged 1.23m (5%) at 8.25pm, and was one of the most-watched multichannel shows.
The digital channel's repeat of The Voice UK took 727k (3.2%) at 7pm, while Britain's Got Talent - repeated on ITV2 at 4.15pm - managed a superior 751k (4.9%) and 179k (1%) on timeshift.
